Where to stay
Not every area in Key West hits the same vibe. Here's where each verified property actually sits, and what each pocket feels like at night.
The waterfront-anchor cluster at both ends of Duval Street: Ocean Key Resort & Spa (4.5, 5,054 reviews) at 0 Duval Street is the Sunset-Pier flagship — Noble House Resorts brand with 4.9 location, 4.6 cleanliness, spa, oceanfront rooms and Mallory Square adjacency. Pier House Resort & Spa (4.4, 3,468 reviews) at 1 Duval Street is the sister waterfront flagship with a private beach, spa, koi ponds and beach-and-Duval balance — recent 5-stars praise Demien at check-in as 'professional and welcoming.' Southernmost Beach Resort (4.4, 10,381 reviews) at 1319 Duval Street is Key West's single most-reviewed hotel — the Duval-end oceanfront resort with a beach, three pools, restaurants and Constantine and Shana bartenders as recent 5-star standouts; CANDID FLAGS include recent 2-stars about sargassum-seaweed beach closures without warning, 'resort-like-Motel-6 parking lots,' and dated rooms. Orchid Key Inn (4.9, 3,234 reviews) at 1004 Duval is the adults-only Duval-Old Town boutique with 4.9 cleanliness, EV charging and pool. Waterfront/Duval flagships — premium price for location and beach access, shared pool rather than in-room jacuzzi.
Key West's wall of 4.8-4.9 Old Town boutique inns tucked on the quiet side streets near Duval: Almond Tree Inn (4.9, 3,011 reviews) at 512 Truman Avenue is a small, immaculate inn with 4.9 cleanliness, 4.9 location, 4.9 service and pool — recent 5-stars praise the 'quiet oasis just steps from Duval' and 'peaceful poolside ambiance.' The Gardens Hotel (4.9, 2,794 reviews) at 526 Angela Street is a five-star-history luxury boutique with 4.9 cleanliness, 4.9 location, koi ponds and live music at breakfast — 'The Soul of Key West' per a recent 5-star from a Dry Tortugas visitor. Ambrosia Key West (4.8, 1,776 reviews) at 622 Fleming Street is a pet-friendly boutique with pool, free breakfast, bike rental and 4.9 location; recent 4-stars praised the Jungle Room and July 4 stay. Eden House Key West (4.6, 2,398 reviews) at 1015 Fleming is the 100-year-old-property boutique with swim-up bar and eclectic rooms — CANDID: some rooms are 'ridiculously small' per multiple recent 3-stars, and a 1-star flagged a January-2026 refund dispute unresolved as of May 2026. Seascape Tropical Inn (4.6, 606 reviews) at 420 Olivia is an adults-only splash-pool inn with free breakfast — CANDID: a March 2026 1-star flagged a urine-stained bed and dismissive staff response. Book by room description — a 5.0 location + 4.8+ cleanliness combined with intimate small-property charm rather than in-room jacuzzi.
The northern beach-and-Roosevelt-Blvd cluster off Old Town: Atlantis House (5.0, 537 reviews) at 1401 Atlantic Blvd is a two-unit adults-only inn with perfect 5.0 cleanliness, 5.0 service, 4.9 rooms and 4.8 location — the highest-rated stay in Key West by subratings, run by owner Shari with Captain Steve and family praised across 5-stars as 'our home away from home.' A boutique two-unit setup (not a hotel — a small guesthouse). Beachside Resort & Residences (4.3, 3,684 reviews) at 3841 N Roosevelt Blvd is the big-property alternative in this area with 4.6 cleanliness, 4.5 rooms and 4.5 sleep quality — CANDID FLAGS run heavy: recent 1-stars flagged 'small pool and even smaller beach area, all elevators broken, very dated'; a 2-star flagged 'very mediocre — overcharge for full housekeeping, private beach is misleading — just a tiny strip of sand with a small pool'; another 1-star flagged 'small beach, disgusting hand rails to stairs, dirty door handles.' A two-property split — the small perfect-rated adults-only Atlantis House vs. the big-condo-value Beachside Resort with real-picture and elevator flags.
Things to do in Key West
Duval Street is Key West's Old Town spine — a mile-long walk from Mallory Square at the Gulf end to the Southernmost Point at the Atlantic end, lined with bars, restaurants, galleries and Conch-house guesthouses. Mallory Square Sunset Celebration happens nightly at the pier — street performers, buskers, sword-swallowers and the whole island gathering for the sunset over the Gulf.
Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum on Whitehead Street is the six-toed-cats mansion where 'For Whom the Bell Tolls' and 'To Have and Have Not' were written. Southernmost Point of the Continental U.S. buoy is the classic photo op at the south end of Duval. Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park on the island's west side is Key West's best swim beach and the only true public beach with lifeguards.
Dry Tortugas National Park is reached by seaplane from Key West airport or the Yankee Freedom ferry — 70 miles west to Fort Jefferson and the reef. Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory on Duval is an easy indoor-tropical stop, and the Key West Aquarium at Mallory Square is family-friendly. Truman Little White House at the naval yard covers President Truman's Key West vacation retreats. Seasonal highlights include Fantasy Fest costume parade and street party in late October, Key West Songwriters Festival in May, Hemingway Days literary festival in July, Key West Powerboat Races in November, and the nightly Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square. Key West rewards visits in every season, from ideal winter snowbird months and comfortable spring shoulder to Fantasy Fest crowds and hurricane-season quiet.

Getting here
Key West sits at the terminus of US 1 (Overseas Highway) — 113 miles south of Miami via the Seven Mile Bridge and the whole Keys chain. Key West International Airport (EYW) is at the east end of the island, ~10 min from Old Town. Miami International (MIA) is ~4 hours by road. Old Town is walkable end-to-end — Duval, Mallory Square, Southernmost Point and most boutique inns fit in a 1-mile walk. Bicycle rental is the local norm; some inns include bikes. Beachside/Roosevelt Blvd properties north of Old Town require a car, bike, taxi or trolley for the main attractions. Uber and Lyft coverage is decent in Old Town; Old Town Trolley and Conch Tour Train run tourist loops. Parking in Old Town is tight and expensive — most guests leave the car at the hotel or don't rent one at all. The Overseas Highway drive is the destination itself for many first-time visitors; plan a day for the 4-hour drive from Miami with stops in Islamorada, Marathon and Big Pine Key.
When to visit
Hot tub stays read differently in February than they do in July. Here's what to expect across the year — temperatures, signature events, the local vibe, and how rates move.
Tub types, explained
Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.
Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.
Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.
In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.
Every listing on this page specifies which type you'll find in the room. We list only properties with the tub in your room — not in a shared pool area or the lobby spa.

Common questions
Why trust us
Every hotel on this page has been personally verified to have a private, in-room hot tub or jacuzzi — not a shared pool tub, not a bathroom soaker, not a spa amenity you have to book. We cross-check three sources for every listing: the hotel's own room photos and descriptions, recent guest reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and direct confirmation from the hotel where unclear. We don't take payment for placement, and we don't generate listings with AI. If a hotel's tub status changes or a property closes, the page updates the next time we re-verify the city (Dothan was last checked May 2026).
