Where to stay
Not every area in Fort Myers hits the same vibe. Here's where each verified property actually sits, and what each pocket feels like at night.
The Daniels Parkway / Marketplace Rd / Corporate Commerce Way airport-corridor cluster is Fort Myers's brand-hotel row — anchored 10-15 minutes from RSW. Hilton Garden Inn Fort Myers Airport/FGCU (4.3, 966 reviews) at 16410 Corporate Commerce Way is the top airport-corridor Hilton with 4.7 location subrating and consistent staff-name praise (Yolanda, Austin, Aryana, Mia). Comfort Inn & Suites Airport (4.1, 257 reviews) at 10081 Intercom Dr is the top-rated brand-airport value pick with 4.6 cleanliness and free airport shuttle. La Quinta Inn & Suites Fort Myers I-75 (4.0, 935 reviews) at 9521 Marketplace Rd is the Wyndham I-75 pick — 4.2 cleanliness, praised breakfast buffet, near the outlet mall. Baymont by Wyndham Fort Myers Airport (3.6, 1,575 reviews) at 9401 Marketplace Rd is the largest airport-area review base but drops to 3.9 cleanliness — a 1-star flagged 'roaches everywhere, bathrooms disgusting.' Quality Suites (3.6, 374 reviews) at 13651 Indian Paint Ln has multiple 1-star flags for roaches and mold. Book Comfort Inn Suites Airport, HGI Airport/FGCU or HIE East The Forum over the low-rated Baymont and Quality Suites.
The US-41 (Tamiami Trail) and Forum Blvd cluster on the east side of Fort Myers. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Ft Myers East - The Forum by IHG (4.4, 616 reviews) at 3427 Forum Blvd is the top-rated brand pick in Fort Myers with 4.7 cleanliness, 4.6 rooms, 4.6 service and 4.5 value across the board — recent 5-stars praise 'the bar' set by this hotel within the IHG group and clean facilities. Watch for a recurring flag: multiple recent reviewers reported a $75 incidentals hold beyond the reservation charge that wasn't communicated at booking. Hilton Garden Inn Fort Myers (4.0, 748 reviews) at 12600 University Drive is the older University Dr HGI — 4.3 cleanliness, 4.4 location, 'best Hilton in SWFL' repeat-guest praise but a 3-star flagged 'very noisy next to airport' and room needs 'serious update.'
La Quinta Inn & Suites By Wyndham Ft. Myers-Sanibel Gateway (3.6, 1,733 reviews) at 20091 Summerlin Rd is the Sanibel-causeway-adjacent pick — 3.8 cleanliness, 4.4 location. Recent 5-star praises 'bang for your buck' and Sanibel proximity ('minutes from the causeway') but 1-stars flag 'BEWARE!!!!' hygiene concerns and a room-change complaint. Solid location for Sanibel/Captiva day trips balanced with recent traveler complaints — book with expectations set and inspect on arrival.
Things to do in Fort Myers
The Edison and Ford Winter Estates on McGregor Boulevard are Fort Myers's marquee attraction — Thomas Edison and Henry Ford's neighboring winter homes, the Edison botanical laboratory and gardens, and a museum with the Ford Model T. JetBlue Park near Daniels Pkwy hosts Boston Red Sox spring training in February and March; the CenturyLink Sports Complex (Hammond Stadium) hosts the Minnesota Twins during the same window — both parks draw baseball fans from the Northeast and Upper Midwest.
Sanibel and Captiva Islands are 30 minutes west via Summerlin Rd across the Sanibel Causeway — the shell-collecting Gulf beaches ('Sanibel stoop' is the local term for the shell-hunting bend), JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge and the historic Sanibel Lighthouse. Fort Myers Beach on Estero Island is 20 minutes south with Times Square and the pier for a shorter beach trip.
The Downtown Fort Myers River District on the Caloosahatchee River anchors the walkable arts and restaurant core — Art Walk on the first Friday of each month, the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center, and the IMAG History and Science Center. The Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve boardwalk lets you walk through a Florida wetland cypress swamp with wildlife.
There is more within easy reach — the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum on Sanibel, Naples 40 minutes south with Fifth Avenue South and the Ritz-Carlton Naples Gulf beach, and Bonita Beach halfway to Naples. Seasonal highlights include Red Sox Spring Training at JetBlue Park (February–March), Twins Spring Training at CenturyLink Sports Complex (February–March) and the Edison Festival of Light Parade downtown (February). Fort Myers rewards visits in every season, from snowbird-peak winters and spring training baseball to slower low-season summers and mild post-hurricane-peak fall days.

Getting here
Fort Myers sits along the Caloosahatchee River in Lee County, Southwest Florida — I-75 is the north-south interstate that runs east of the city and connects the airport-corridor brand hotels (Baymont, Comfort Inn Suites Airport, HGI Airport/FGCU, La Quinta I-75, Quality Suites) to the Naples and Sarasota metros. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is 10-15 minutes east of downtown along Daniels Parkway — several hotels (Comfort Inn & Suites Airport, HIE Airport, Baymont) offer free airport shuttle service. US-41 (Tamiami Trail) is the historic north-south corridor connecting downtown Fort Myers to Bonita Springs and Naples. The Sanibel Causeway from Summerlin Rd is a toll bridge — expect a $6 vehicle toll each way to reach Sanibel and Captiva Islands. A car is the practical way to move between the airport-corridor cluster, downtown River District, McGregor Blvd (Edison-Ford Estates) and the Sanibel/Fort Myers Beach day-trip destinations. Downtown Fort Myers River District is walkable end-to-end for restaurants and Art Walk once you park.
When to visit
Hot tub stays read differently in February than they do in July. Here's what to expect across the year — temperatures, signature events, the local vibe, and how rates move.
Tub types, explained
Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.
Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.
Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.
In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.
Every listing on this page specifies which type you'll find in the room. We list only properties with the tub in your room — not in a shared pool area or the lobby spa.

Why trust us
Every hotel on this page has been personally verified to have a private, in-room hot tub or jacuzzi — not a shared pool tub, not a bathroom soaker, not a spa amenity you have to book. We cross-check three sources for every listing: the hotel's own room photos and descriptions, recent guest reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and direct confirmation from the hotel where unclear. We don't take payment for placement, and we don't generate listings with AI. If a hotel's tub status changes or a property closes, the page updates the next time we re-verify the city (Dothan was last checked May 2026).
