Holiday Inn Express & Suites Parkersburg East
"A 4.3/53 newer 4-star IHG Holiday Inn Express in east Parkersburg - rooms 4.8 subrating with new-property freshness, pool and free breakfast."
About The Hotel
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Parkersburg East is a newer 4-star IHG Holiday Inn Express at 10057 Emerson Avenue on the east side of Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. Rated 4.3 across 53 reviews with strong subratings: rooms 4.8 (elite, reflects new-property freshness), cleanliness 4.5, sleep quality 4.5, service 4.4, location 4.4, value 4.0. Priced $110 per night. Amenities include free parking, WiFi, fitness center, pool, free breakfast, offsite bowling and tennis, and kids stay free. Recent 5-star praise: ‘This hotel seems to be quite new. The rooms are lovely and well thought out. They have a bench where you can put your suitcase and hooks above it to hang things. The bed and linens were very good also.’ A 4-star reviewer wrote ‘Great folks, clean rooms and plenty of places nearby to get some grub. The only downside I noted is the entrance to the parking lot has a significant drainage trench in it, and it needs to be driven across slowly without.’ Candid 1-star flag: one reviewer reported ‘incredibly dirty and needs a complete renovation. The towels were ripped with holes in them. Shower curtain had blood stains on it. Carpet/tile floors’ - contradicting the 4.8 rooms subrating and reading as an outlier bad room in a mostly-newer property. A 1-star wheelchair-accessible reviewer reported the roll-in shower’s exhaust fan did not work and the AC thermostat could not be adjusted. Small property (only 53 reviews) - one bad experience weights heavily but the 4.3 average and 4.8 rooms subrating suggest most stays remain strong. Parkersburg sits at the confluence of the Ohio and Little Kanawha rivers - about 10 minutes from downtown Parkersburg and Point Park (Blennerhassett Island sternwheeler dock), 15 minutes north to Vienna Grand Central Mall, 15 minutes east to Fenton Art Glass in Williamstown, 30 minutes east on Route 50 to Ellenboro’s Sleep Inn Whirlpool Suite marquee, and 30 minutes north across the Ohio River to Marietta OH. Best for Blennerhassett Island tourists, Marietta cross-river weekenders, historic downtown Parkersburg visitors, Julia-Ann Square Christmas Home Tour visitors, business travelers on the Emerson Avenue corridor and family visitors wanting a clean newer chain-hotel overnight.
What Guests Are Saying
“We stayed here during a visit to Parkersburg. The hotel was not to far out of the city, it was well maintained and clean. We have not stayed in very many HI Exp and this one did not disappoint. Everything about the hotel from the lobby to the room and staircase were immaculate. Room and bath were super clean, attached pic of tub. The breakfast was very good with a lot of selection including hot eats. My only complaint was that the hot tub at the pool was uncomfortably hot I only stayed in a minute or two and wanted to spend more time because we had been doing a lot of walking prior to our arrival.” — Ramchallenger, 5 stars
“This hotel seems to be quite new. The rooms are lovey and well thought out. They have a bench where you can put your suitcase and hooks above it to hang things The bed and linens were very good also. We hadn’t been to a Holiday Inn Express for some time but this one exceeded my expectations And the coffee was pretty good also in the morning” — tgerberm, 5 stars
“Staff was friendly & accommodating. The room was excellent, parking was adequate (seemed to be an area for oversize vehicles behind the building, but I’m not sure it was part of the property or not). Building was in great shape. Breakfast was good. They had a fairly large seating area which we used for a “pizza party” for our group.” — Stephen H., 5 stars

View on Google"I've stopped here a few times traveling back and forth from work to home. I was towing my car behind a U-Haul last winter when it started snowing heavily. I was able to get a good, clean room for the night at a fair price. The place feels new. Everything is modern and good shape. Parking was great - especially towing a car trailer behind a U-Haul."
