About The Hotel

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Beckley is a 3-star Radisson mid-tier at 2120 Harper Road directly off I-77 exit 44 about 10 minutes northeast of downtown Beckley in Raleigh County. Rated 3.8 across a huge 1,706-review base with cleanliness 4.14, location 4.53, rooms 4.04, service 4.18, sleep quality 4.10 and value 3.98 subratings that mask a widening 1-star complaint pattern in mid-2026. CONFIRMED HOT TUB REMOVED per an April 2026 3-star reviewer (mickalia): ‘THERE IS NO HOT TUB. This was the main reason that we chose this specific hotel, and it really isn’t advertised enough that they had the hot tub removed 3 or 4 years ago. The signage inside of the hotel still suggests that there is a whirlpool in the pool area.’ Multiple mid-2026 1-star reports document filth: ‘actual blunt underneath of our bed along with other garbage, hair, dirt/grime’ (June 2026, Laur16), ‘the sheets had body fluid on them and the mattresses were stained’ (May 2026, Jessica G.), ‘the room was dirty - top of nightstands and tv stand were sticky, toilet dirty, old eyelashes stuck to the side of the tv stand’ (July 2026, Amy W.), and ‘the dirtiest hotel I have been in, in 40 years. There were stains all over, stuff on the sheets. The sheets were damp’ (June 2026, Tonya M.). A June 2026 4-star still praises ‘the front desk was very friendly and helpful’ and ‘our shower was basically spotless’ but notes mold on the pool divider and ‘the spa was gone but the busted up electrical for it was still there.’ A June 2026 5-star praises Danny and Thomas on staff. Amenities include indoor pool (HOT TUB REMOVED), fitness center, free breakfast, pet-friendly rooms, free parking, free WiFi and business center at $93-$106 nightly. Beckley sits at the I-64/I-77 crossroads in southern WV - Grandview at New River Gorge National Park is 30 minutes north, the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine is 10 minutes southwest, and Tamarack is 5 minutes south on the WV Turnpike. Best only for New River Gorge day-trippers who need the massive review-count reassurance and understand the property has significant unresolved cleanliness reports; other travelers should choose Microtel next door for the actual hot tub.

What Guests Are Saying

“Staff Danny was very friendly up on our arrival Room was very, very clean Thomas is excellent ! We are very pleased!” — 03Liz0531, 5 stars

“The good: the front desk was very friendly and helpful. I thought for the most part, the maid service did a great job. Our shower was basically spotless and the room was pretty clean. There was a little bit of missed debris under the bed and nightstand. Our TV had some random gross looking spooge on the screen, see the picture. The bad: I think the maintenance department needs totally revamped. The outside pool area was a disaster. Mold on the inside/outside pool divider. The fence gate was smashed, and there was trash and wet towels everywhere. The spa was gone but the busted up electrical for it was still there. The door to the 3rd floor linen closet was busted up and hanging on the frame. The ice machine on the 3rd floor looked like a science project. Our AC unit made weird fan noises and the outlet screen was half packed with dirt. Room 334 BTW. The TV remote kept falling apart and the picture on the TV was very washed out and terrible. Being a Radison property, I expected more. There were even a couple characters having a fire on the tailgate of their truck in the parking lot, little kids with bubble machines spraying soap bubbles all over the lobby sitting area!” — Lynd M., 4 stars

“Hotel is a weird mix of nice and tired. 1. THERE IS NO HOT TUB. This was the main reason that we chose this specific hotel, and it really isn’t advertised enough that they had the hot tub removed 3 or 4 years ago. The signage inside of the hotel still suggests that there is a whirlpool in the pool area. 2. Our king bed and bedding was super comfortable. Sheets are amazing. 3. Carpet in room had what was clearly old pet stains (this hotel does allow pets), the couch in our room had seen better days (and was also heavily stained), and we had sticky drink rings on our bedside tables from the previous guest. 4. We didn’t get to use the pool the next morning (Monday) as it was closed for shocking, which I understand needs to happen, but a sign behind the front desk states the pool is closed on Thursday mornings from 8:00am-11:00am for this specific task. 5. The hot breakfast buffet was operating at about half…the options were very limited, and when we asked if additional items were being replenished we were told they were cooking and would be about 10 minutes but were never replenished. Overall this could be the gem of the hotels in this area if they hadn’t eliminated the hot tub and if the hot breakfast was supplied as advertised. Staff checking us in was friendly, bed was super comfortable, but outside of that we just felt like we were a little misled. I would like to point out that I booked directly though Choice Hotels and not a third party.” — mickalia, 3 stars

"I checked out this morning after spending 3.5 days there with my cat. They have a big pool that stays open all hours. I ate breakfast there every morning and it was very good. I have no complaints. Staff was very friendly and helpful. As I said, I had my cat with me and upon checking in they asked if I would need a litterbox for her. I didn't because I had one but it was nice of to know that they could accommodate me if need be. I'd not eonly stay again, but I'd recommend this place to anyone!"

"The front desk staff & management at this location are so customer oriented. I booked a reservation through a 3rd party app, that unfortunately I had to cancel, Expedia didn't communicate with CIAS, but the front desk staff worked with me to resolve the issue and honored the refund policy/terms. Every winter, we stay here several weekends when we ski in Ghent and it's location and amenities are top notch for families looking for a great place to stay when in Beckley. Book your room here, the service, amenities, and staff are amazing!"
