Recent 5-star praise: ‘we stayed at the Woodland house over the weekend, so cozy and relaxing, the trees by the lake in autumn were beautiful, like a movie. The staff checking in and out were very courteous and friendly. Staying at Coolfont is quickly becoming a new tradition for us’ (October 2025 Wonderful). Walking distance to a local pet friendly brewery.’ October 2024 5-star: ‘the lodge is situated in a stunning setting, staff Jonathan and Jennifer went out of their way to make me feel at home.’ CANDID recent flags include a 2025 3-star reporting ‘NO WiFi at the cabins, only at the main lodge (which closes at 8pm)’ and unpaved bumpy cabin roads (‘mostly rocks and unpaved terrain’), a June 2025 3-star reporting the ‘resort’ has less on-site than advertised (‘no restaurant, boat rentals, basketball, cornhole, volleyball, or shuffleboard’) and a November 2024 3-star noting cabins are being renovated with SUPER bright lighting and no dimmable options. Best for pet-owning travelers, mountain-hiking weekend travelers, rustic-cabin romantic couples wanting the main-lodge in-room jacuzzi rooms, family reunion multi-cabin travelers and pickleball-and-tennis active travelers.

“This is an unbelievable get away! It was the dream find of our vacation! It is a resort but a casual rustic, lodge- like experience. There are 3 choices to stay. We stayed in Woodlands..rooms available up in the woods. We had a room with gas fireplace, balcony with view of lake, large rooms, king bed, 2 full baths, frig & sink & microwave…completely quiet. This ‘room’..apartment really was $149 a night in Sept. Ate our meals across the road in the main lodge & also a “Cheers” like bar, slots, gift shop. The lodge has jacuzzi rooms available. Up in the woods on the lodge side r private A Frames for rent. Also, a separate bldg with an olympic-sized pool with salt water & a hot tub. Just amazing!!! Friendly, wonderful place to get away. “This was our first time staying at Coolfont.. stayed with my daughter & our dog. We loved our pet friendly room at the Woodland House…very spacious ,clean & quiet.. They even left a cute bag of dogs treats upon our arrival. The staff was also very nice & helpful…Walking distance to a local pet friendly brewery , which had excellent food & service..
