About The Hotel

The Quality Inn (New Martinsville Inn) is a 2-star Choice Quality Inn at 166 N State Route 2 on the north side of downtown New Martinsville, Wetzel County, West Virginia, on the Ohio River along WV Route 2. Rated 2.5 across 66 reviews - LOW OVERALL RATING with weak subratings: location 3.8 (top), sleep quality 2.8, service 2.8, rooms 2.7, cleanliness 2.9, value 2.4. Priced $99 per night. Amenities include free parking, indoor pool with jacuzzi on-site (per traveler photo caption ‘The Jacuzzi’ - shared pool-area jacuzzi in the indoor pool room, not an in-room whirlpool), free breakfast and non-smoking property. Recent candid flags are significant. A 1-star reported ‘All unoccupied rooms had the doors wide open. Building had odd smell. Room above ours had leaked at some point as there was a huge patch in the ceiling - the wallpaper was painted over. The next morning we had to cover’ up ceiling issues. A 2-star: ‘Steer Clear. Although the hotel looks ok from the outside, some of the characters in the parking lot were scary! There were people sitting in a van by the front door with music blaring. A lot of early morning door slamming as the workers’ left for work. A 3-star Ohio River review: ‘The hotel to choose if you want to watch river traffic. There is nothing fancy about the New Martinsville Inn although it does have a nice pool and hot tub. Our room on the first floor was clean and quiet with a fridge and microwave.’ A 5-star: ‘Great place, friendly and welcoming. At first I was disappointed because the pool was closed, but the customer service definitely made up for it. The rooms were clean. We felt very welcome and had a great experience.’ Book with realistic expectations - value-tier property with pipeline-worker and Marcellus-Shale-contractor clientele mix. New Martinsville sits on the Ohio River in Wetzel County - about 45 minutes south of Wheeling and 1 hour north of Parkersburg on the Ohio River Scenic Byway. The Ohio River waterfront is a short walk west, downtown restaurants nearby, Sistersville (Victorian oil-boom town) 15 minutes north, Wheeling (Oglebay Park, 1849 Suspension Bridge) 45 minutes north, Parkersburg (Blennerhassett Island) 1 hour south, and Ellenboro’s Sleep Inn Whirlpool Suite marquee about 90 minutes south. Best for Ohio River scenic-driving visitors on WV Route 2, Wetzel County heritage tourists, Sistersville Victorian oil-boom-town day-trippers, pipeline-worker overnights and Northern Panhandle stopovers - not a romance or leisure destination.

"I had an awesome experience at The Travelers Inn. The owners are super friendly and courteous. The price was absolutely worth it. My room was better than I thought it would be. My room and the facilities all together were very clean and the ice machine worked perfectly. It was in the perfect location because it was only a minute drive to visit my family and also walking distance to the River Trail and several food establishments. I would recommend this hotel and the next time I visit New Martinsville, I’ll gladly stay again."
