About The Hotel
Mardi Gras Casino & Resort is the casino-resort anchor of Cross Lanes - a 4-star full-service casino hotel at 1 Greyhound Drive off I-64 exit 47 in the Cross Lanes casino district in Kanawha County. Rated 4.0 across 652 reviews with cleanliness 4.5 (the highest cleanliness subrating among the three Cross Lanes hotels), plus location 4.3, rooms 4.3, service 4.3 and sleep quality 4.3 all solid across a 652-review base at $131-$141 nightly rates. Amenities include Mardi Gras Casino on-site (slots, table games, historic Tri-State Greyhound Park racing heritage - Cross Lanes was one of West Virginia’s greyhound racing centers), French Quarter Lounge restaurant on-site, additional bars, free hot breakfast post-renovation (per July 2026 5-star: ‘continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage links, french toast, spiced apples and assorted pastries, fruit and fruit juice’), fitness center, shuttle bus service, conference facilities, business center, free parking and free WiFi. Recent renovation CONFIRMED by July 2026 5-star: ‘we have stayed at this hotel about 7 times. It had been a few years since we had been there and WOW! we were surprised! They have done renovations since we have been there. The rooms are beautiful! They are clean, new carpet, decorations, beds, updates in bathrooms.’ Multiple 2026 5-star reviews praise the renovated rooms and casino combination. July 2026 5-star Cant wait to return: ‘from the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was exciting, clean, and welcoming. The casino floor had a great variety of slot machines, and everything was well maintained. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile.’ CANDID recent flags include a July 2026 2-star reporting service cutbacks (‘they only clean your room and change the towels every three days of your visit. There is no public ice machine. No soda or snack machine. You have to go into the casino for soda… no waitresses to offer you a drink on the gaming floor… no free play when you book your stay’) and an August 2026 1-star reporting a $91 credit-card charge for a $65 French Quarter Lounge dinner (billing dispute - the reviewer had a $65 receipt but was charged $91). An August 2026 1-star reported losing $600 in 20 minutes at the casino (self-directed gaming risk, not a hotel operational issue). Best for Mardi Gras Casino gaming visitors wanting on-site casino access without leaving the property, Charleston-metro group tour and conference travelers, casino-hospitality travelers with shuttle-bus needs and post-renovation-room travelers.
What Guests Are Saying
“We had an amazing experience at Mardi Gras Casino & Resort! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was exciting, clean, and welcoming. The casino floor had a great variety of slot machines, and everything was well maintained. The staff throughout the resort were friendly, helpful, and always greeted us with a smile, which made the visit even more enjoyable. We also had a great experience with the food and drinks. The restaurants and bars offered delicious options, quick service, and a relaxing atmosphere to take a break between gaming. What made this trip especially meaningful was that it was our first real date night together, and Mardi Gras Casino & Resort gave us the perfect place to celebrate. We laughed, played games, took lots of pictures, and made memories we’ll never forget. If I could suggest one thing, it would be adding a few more late-night dining options, but that’s a very small detail compared to what was otherwise a wonderful visit. Thank you to everyone at Mardi Gras Casino & Resort for making our trip so special. We can’t wait to come back! 🎰❤️” — Sebastian K., 5 stars
“We have stayed at this hotel about 7 times. It had been a few years since we had been there and WOW! we were surprised!! They have done renovations since we have been there. The rooms are beautiful! They are clean, new carpet, decorations, beds, updates in bathrooms. We were impressed. The staff is and always has been friendly and helpful. And they now have a continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage links, french toast, spiced apples and assorted pastries, fruit and fruit juice. We were impressed and plan to stay there again. As for the casino: It is very nice, and the dealers at the tables are very helpful. This is a non-smoking casino, but they do have a smoking area outside with about 10-12 slot machines outside. Minimum bets are low which was beneficial. We plan on staying again.” — Melinda T., 5 stars
“This was a very clean Hotel/Casino. Coming from out of town I didn’t know what to expect. I was surprised at the cleanliness (I’m picky), hospitality and amenities.” — Granna, 5 stars

What guests are saying about Mardi Gras Casino & Resort.
"Had a short day, arriving kind of late, so was unable to try the main restaurants, but it was a nice surprise seeing the cleanliness of the Casino and was also very happy. It was a non-smoking facility. Really like the layout of the Casino floor and the selection of games had some pretty good luck on most of the machines we played and in the high limit room. Was very happy with the room we booked very comfortable bed and pillows. Everything was very clean and the room was quiet. My only suggestion is to provide maybe a couple bottles of free water for the room."

— Fran Wolters
View on Google"A great way to spend a cold, rainy fall day. The staff is super friendly and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this place. It's clean, and there was plenty to do, from slots to high-end tables to horse racing. It was a great afternoon. Didn't stay at the hotel, but the outside looked nice, and the pictures of the room looked relaxing and cozy."
