Recent 5-star praise: ‘great hotel - the location is great, the staff friendly, the rooms were very clean, the breakfast was awesome, they had everything that you might want, I would definitely stay here again.’ Summersville sits on US 19 in Nicholas County about 60 minutes east of Charleston, 30 minutes north of the New River Gorge Bridge and Fayetteville, and 60 minutes north of Beckley. Summersville Lake (2,700-acre reservoir with Blue-water visibility and top freshwater scuba diving) is a few minutes east; Summersville Dam and the Gauley River put-ins are about 15-20 minutes southeast; the Canyon Rim NPS visitor center at the New River Gorge Bridge is about 30 minutes south. Gauley Season runs six scheduled Class V dam-release weekends in September and October each year - a bucket-list expert-level rafting experience. Bridge Day (third Saturday October) fills every hotel in the region 6-12 months out. Best for New River Gorge whitewater rafters (New River commercial season and Gauley Season expert-level), Summersville Lake scuba divers and boaters, Bridge Day BASE-jump spectators, family lake weeks and Charleston-to-Beckley US 19 corridor travelers wanting a solid chain-hotel base at the National Park’s northern gateway.

What guests are saying about La Quinta Inn & Suites/New River Gorge National.
"We had an excellent stay! The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast included a ton of options. Our room was clean and quiet, even though we were on the ground level near the parking lot. The location is also superb with gas, food, and stores within walking or very short driving distance. I would definitely come back if in the area again ☺️"
