Holiday Inn Express & Suites Parkersburg
"Top-rated 4.6/235 4-star IHG at Mineral Wells I-77 exit 170 - CONFIRMED shared hot tub + indoor pool, free hot breakfast at $115 nightly, Cracker Barrel in parking lot."
About The Hotel
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Parkersburg - Mineral Wells by IHG is a top-rated 4-star IHG chain hotel at 80 Old Nicholette Road directly off I-77 exit 170 about 10 minutes south of downtown Parkersburg in Wood County - the top pick in the Mid-Ohio Valley I-77 exit 170 commercial cluster. Rated 4.6 across 235 reviews with cleanliness 4.74, service 4.70, sleep quality 4.64, rooms 4.57 subratings all excellent, plus value 4.45 and location 4.37 solid at $115 nightly rates. CONFIRMED shared hot tub and indoor pool per an April 2025 5-star reviewer (Karen S.): ‘we stay at a variety of hotels during the year and this has probably the best hot breakfast ever - large variety from quick grab and go to hot sit down buffet - very well stocked and maintained - the staff was friendlly there is also a nice hot tub and pool wish the hot tub jets were a little better and the water a little warmer but still relaxing after a day of travel’ - hedged jet quality and water temperature but the tub is present and functional. Amenities include indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, free hot breakfast, kids-stay-free rooms, pet-friendly rooms, free parking and free WiFi. Recent 4-star praise: ‘solid Hotel unless you are overly sensitive to highway noise - room was clean, great water pressure, good breakfast. Cracker Barrel and Napoli Pizza is parking lot. Staff was can do’ (June 2026, Patricia L.). A July 2026 4-star notes ‘this Holiday Inn and Suites is conveniently located close to highways, main roads, gas stations, restaurants and fast-food places. It is an older-newer style Holiday Inn Express, which is starting to show its age. Overall, the hotel and the staff keep the place clean and running smoothly’ (Peter A.). Candid flags: a September 2024 1-star reports strong cigarette-smoke smell at check-in and neighborhood concerns (KG); a July 2024 1-star reports outdated furnishings; 2025-2026 reviews suggest active operational improvement under current management. A March 2024 5-star from a family that had relocated from a bad Ripley Holiday Inn Express experience praised ‘Angel, who was working the front desk certainly lived up to her name.’ Best for Mid-Ohio Valley travelers wanting a top-rated 4-star hot-tub hotel at $115 nightly, Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park day-trippers, Julia-Ann Square Victorian tour visitors, I-77 south road-trippers wanting a Cracker-Barrel-adjacent overnight, youth-tournament family weekend travelers and IHG loyalty travelers.
What Guests Are Saying
“We relocated here after having a bad experience at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Ripley. What a contrast. Angel, who was working the front desk certainly lived up to her name. She was friendly, kind and empathetic. The hotel was great. The pool was open (unlike Ripley). We were leaving early in the morning about 15 min before breakfast bar opened but the woman in charge there told us to come on in, everything was ready anyway. From beginning to end it was a wonderful and welcome experience after what we experienced in Ripley. If you’re looking to stay in that area, definitely consider staying here .” — KG, 5 stars

“The room was very clean. They had snacks outside of the breakfast. They were very efficient and friendly. Staff was friendly . They were dog friendly. They provided soaps, shampoos and conditioners and body wash. Very close to the expressway and restaurants.” — Cindy V., 5 stars

View on Google"This place was much needed quietness and cleanliness. The location is local enough to grab wine at the gomart close by and grab a meal at Cracker Barrel. The hot tub in the room was awesome and super relaxing, with a tv in view from the tub. The complimentary breakfast was great and the lady that runs it was very nice and brought out extra biscuits. The staff were super friendly and helpful when I kept having trouble with my key card. The room was clean and pillows were super comfortable. It’s just far enough out of town that it felt safe and the area was pretty quiet besides the highway noise. We will likely make this our go to hotel when visiting the mid Ohio valley. We appreciate the hospitality of the hotel staff for making it a relaxing and rejuvenating stay."
