Recent 4-star ATV-rider review: ‘Nice Stay. Clean and comfortable stay. Close to many restaurants and easy access to Hatfield-McCoy trail system. Did not leave a 5 star review because the pool was closed for repair.’ Recent 5-star ATV-rider review: ‘Great choice for the Logan area. Great place to stay! We came to explore the Hatfield/McCoy trails, and Bearwallow. Comfy bed, clean room, spacious bathroom. Lots of storage. Friendly service. Plenty of tasty breakfast choices too.’ Candid 2-star flag: ‘No Pool for 3 years. False Advertising! No pool No hot tub No Spa as advertised. These items have been broken for years yet they still advertise them. We have a rotating group of 10 trail riders and we are sick of being lied to.’ A 1-star reported an erroneous smoking charge post-checkout: ‘After a stay by my sister and myself, I received an erroneous and unauthorized smoking charge. Neither my sister nor myself have ever smoked.’ Logan sits on Route 119 in southern WV coal country - about 90 minutes south of Charleston Yeager Airport (CRW), 2 hours northwest of Bluefield, 5 minutes north of downtown Logan and the Logan County Coal House, 10 minutes north of Chief Logan State Park, 10-20 minutes from Hatfield-McCoy Bearwallow trailheads, 90 minutes south to Matewan Massacre historic site along US 52, and 90 minutes east to Beckley Coal Mining Museum. "The hotel is dated and the rooms are staring to show that. The cleaning staff is great and doing a great job. The maintenance staff not so much. Complimentary breakfast was good and the beds were comfy as well."
