About The Hotel

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lewisburg is a 4-star IHG chain hotel at 222 Hunter Lane off US 219 near the I-64 interchange in Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. Rated 4.2 across 303 reviews with cleanliness 4.6 and location 4.6 subratings strongest, sleep quality 4.4, service 4.4, rooms 4.4 solid, and value 4.2 modestly weakest. Amenities include an indoor pool, fitness center, free breakfast, children activities (family-friendly), pet-friendly rooms, shuttle bus service, business center, free parking and free WiFi. The hotel sits about 5 minutes drive from historic downtown Lewisburg (National Register historic district), Carnegie Hall Lewisburg (one of only four Carnegie Halls in the world), Greenbrier Valley Theatre and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine campus. About 15 minutes east on I-64 is White Sulphur Springs and The Greenbrier resort - the West Virginia flagship National Historic Landmark - making the Holiday Inn Express the standard lower-cost lodging alternative to Greenbrier resort rates for Congressional Bunker tour visitors, spa day-trippers, wedding-party guests and Greenbrier golf spillover crowds. Lost World Caverns just north of town, Greenbrier State Forest, Monongahela National Forest 30 minutes north and New River Gorge National Park about 60 minutes west round out the regional day-trip options. Recent 1-star December 21-22, 2025 candid flag: ‘wiped up a spill in bathroom and washcloth was black, bathroom floor was nasty, old food left in fridge and Hardee’s wrapper left under bed, cob webs in window seal.’ The cleanliness 4.6 overall subrating suggests this housekeeping issue is not universal but book carefully - request a recently-cleaned room at check-in and inspect the bathroom, bedside area and fridge before unpacking. Best for Carnegie Hall attendees, Greenbrier Valley Theatre patrons, WVSOM medical students and families, Lost World Caverns visitors and The Greenbrier resort area day-trippers wanting a lower-cost lodging alternative.

What Guests Are Saying

“Staff was friendly. Check in Room was clean. Temps outside were cold and room was able to keep us warm. Breakfast was supplied as expected and cleaned regularly. Good location with close to Interstate and downtown Lewisburg. Lots of Tesla chargers on site if you need that .” — BadgerBoy_12, 5 stars

“Truly friendly staff that went the extra step. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast area was very nice. The pool was a bit noisy. The laundry room was quite welcome. As holiday inn express goes, this is as good as we have seen. Thanks to the staff.” — Svwood, 5 stars

“Very nice hotel. Clean and comfortable. Well kept. Breakfast was good. Easy to find right off I-64 E. Didn’t use the pool and hot tub myself but another guest told me they had a positive experience. Easy check in and check out. Plenty of parking.” — laurel, 5 stars

"Bought a room for a driver of mine due to fatigue. Room was said to be comfortable and clean. Check in was easy and quick. Bed was reported to be just fine. Not much more I can say as it was my driver that stayed. Buffet breakfast served in the AM."

"I absolutely enjoyed my stay here. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a suite and the rooms were so spacious and comfortable. The pillow top mattress was amazing. The kids enjoyed the pool area. But the highlight of the stay was the continental breakfast...everything was so fresh and good. My family and I enjoyed our stay there."

"I travel a decent amount and always look to the reviews for guidance when choosing a hotel. I needed to leave one for this place because it exceeded my expectations. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast area was neatly organized and clean and the food was very good for a hotel breakfast. The room we booked had 2 queen beds and a pull out sofa and was a great size for our group of 5. The only thing I’m not a fan of, and I think this is universal across Holiday Inn Express locations, are the refillable shampoos and soaps vs the individual bottles. I’m just not a fan of using those myself, but I can absolutely see how they would be more cost effective and environmentally friendly. All in all I highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely stay again."
