The people were very friendly. The rooms were newly renovated and the bed was comfortable. In room fridge was cold. Pool was clean. (I didn’t use it). The breakfast had mini omelettes.’ A 3-star business-traveler review: ‘Stayed for a couple of nights while on business in the area. Hotel was easy to find, ample parking, wifi worked well. Unfortunately we got up to leave before breakfast opened each day so i cannot comment on that.’ Candid 2-star flag: ‘Worn out hotel. Dirty, stained furniture. Everything needs paint. Loud neighbors. Carb heavy, meager breakfast. Lots of folks smoking outside. Had to change rooms because first room was smoky, smelly, and the door didn’t’ work properly. Another 1-star: ‘Toilet and bathtub were clogged, tv didn’t work, bedding stains, dirty carpets. Gross experience. Complained but no one came to fix. When checking out, we told them about the plumbing issue, and they were aware of it.’ Inconsistency between newly-renovated and unrenovated rooms - request a newly-renovated room at booking. What Guests Are Saying

“We made a brief trip with 3 overnights in 3 different choice hotels. This was the very best of the three we stayed in. Clean, up to date room, nice lobby and breakfast area, friendly desk clerks, and the breakfast was what we used to see at more locations pre-covid. Since covid many hotels are skimping on what used to be a good breakfast. I will definitely stay in this hotel my next trip to Martinsburg.” — William F., 5 stars

“We booked through Expedia, paid in advance, but the hotel had no record of the reservation. Not the hotel’s fault, but after about an hour things were straightened out. The Desk staff were very nice. But this hotel needs serious refreshing. There is no elevator, stairs were difficult for me because the railings were filthy, I didn’t want to touch them and the stair treads were torn (big tripping danger). Stains, wood trims falling off, room safe didn’t work, and BUGS (a black beetle kinda of thing” — samyers48, 3 stars

"Hotel has a really nice lobby. Staff were helpful. We had to change rooms after the first night because our bathroom sink had no hot water, but the staff were very apologetic and immediately offered to help us move to a different room. The overall water pressure (even in the second room we stayed in) was so low that sometimes the shower wouldn’t work. When we messed with the faucet to where we found the highest water flow and then tried the shower, it would work and once the shower was working then we’d be able to adjust the water temp. If we tried to get the preferred water temp first and then tried to start the shower, 9 times out of 10 there wasn’t enough pressure and the shower wouldn’t work. It wasn’t a big issue for me but my daughters have long and thick hair and they said it took forever to get their hair rinsed completely due to the lack of water pressure and flow. Our first room (that didn’t have hot water) was also kind of dirty and in the bathroom it looked like someone had previously vomited so hard it splashed on the walls by the toilet. I don’t even want to think about what other fluids it could possibly be, but it was gross to have to see it and it was even on the walls under the sink since there isn’t anything underneath the bathroom vanity. There’s no missing the stuff on the walls, so I’m not sure why it wasn’t cleaned up or painted over. There’s second room though was spotless, and bigger than our first room. Beds are a small double, but comfy and sheets/blankets were soft and spotless as well. No weird smells, very quiet with an occasional semi-truck engine braking but overall we were able to sleep very soundly and without interruption. The AC worked perfectly and didn’t omit any odors or moisture, and the windows and curtains were clean and nice. Refrigerator worked amazingly well, and there were numerous outlets near the beds for charging phones etc. There were multiple lamps, but for some reason we felt that they weren’t giving off much light. We would remove the lamp shades if we needed to read anything otherwise we’d get headaches from having to squint and hold the reading material right up to our faces to see it. Overall I’m happy with our stay. I felt the location to be perfect because we were so close to a lot of tourist attractions yet we didn’t have to sleep in the middle of a busy city with traffic. I’d stay here again."
