Rated 4.0 across 515 reviews with location 4.6 the strongest subrating (waterfront + walkable downtown position), cleanliness 4.4 solid, rooms 4.3 solid, service 4.2 and sleep quality 4.2 mid-tier and value 4.0 the honest weakness at $141-$151 nightly rates. In suite coffee and tea that came with directions’), plus walkable access to the State Capitol Complex about 5 minutes walk east, Haddad Riverfront Park directly adjacent, the Clay Center about 10 minutes walk west, Charleston Coliseum and downtown Charleston dining. Recent 4-star: ‘excellent service, great location. I had a great view from my room, looking out on the river. We had a suite, that was spacious with everything in good working order. What truly stood out was the outstanding service, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. It was fast and friendly in every interaction.’ SIGNIFICANT CANDID RECENT CLEANLINESS FLAGS to read first: an August 2026 1-star titled ‘Great location but clean rooms are a dice roll’ from a four-week work stay reported 24 flea/tick bites in 24 hours in a third room and dried fecal matter on chair (‘I was in this hotel for four weeks due to work. First two rooms were great. I was bitten by fleas/ticks ~24x in 24 hr in the 3rd room and found dried fecal [and urine?] matter on chair. They transferred me to a very nice room and washed my clothes, only staining the underclothes with bleach. The 4th time I was at hotel, I began to have serious allergy issues within 3 hours. I found a chair with black mold under the cushion, so much hair and blood [from an addict and or bed bugs?] on the headboard’); an August 2026 1-star reported the property ‘very dated’ and ‘not clean enough for our expectations of a Marriott’ with a dirty in-room menu and a streaked full-length mirror; a July 2026 1-star titled ‘Clean bed, disappointing overall experience’ reported gross furniture and thin walls; and a September 2025 1-star titled ‘NASTY’ reported a wedding-day check-in error and rude front-desk conduct (‘the guy at front desk made my mother cry it was my wedding day. It was their mistake!’). Best only for downtown-Charleston Live-on-the-Levee concert visitors and Yeager Airport travelers wanting free airport transportation who accept the cleanliness dice-roll flags - the higher-rated Courtyard 500 feet west at 100 Kanawha Boulevard East is the safer riverfront Marriott choice at similar rates.
What Guests Are Saying
“For years, this was my regular place to stay when I was in Charleston. I stopped coming because my conferences were in another hotel. This spring while at the other hotel, my car was broken into so I decided to give Four Points another try and I’m so glad I did! The staff was extremely helpful and the rooms were very clean as was the bathroom and common areas. I felt the parking is also safer here. The location on the river is a nice bonus.” — ajayhawkfan, 5 stars
“Great service here by ALEX and BRENDAN throughout my stay. My room offered a great river view and free access to listen to the Luve on the Levee Friday night concert with Motown and Chicago cover bands. Great double queen beds, big mini frig, large TV. In suite coffee and tea that came with directions. The indoor pool has a lift. The central area by some conference has an art display of a local painter.” — Toni T., 5 stars
“Stayed here for a night on my road trip back home. Staff was very friendly. Hotel was clean. Location seemed to be great. Didn’t get a chance to spend much time but there were restaurants and bars in walking distance.” — Eric F., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Four Points by Sheraton Charleston.
"The rooms are A bit dated. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean. One thing I really appreciated is they had a double shade on the window that black out the light for sleeping. The check-in was easy and very friendly. The location across the street from the river is fantastic. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it."

Four points was the place...price was great ...the hotel checked all my boxes...I was not the only one staying the night...my two sons and their families also had rooms...that's ten satisfied customers...my wife and I had a great room with river view...when I checked in , I told the girl my sons and family were also had reservations...she immediately suggested that she would put our families next to each other... awesome experience...I forgot to mention the great sports bar we all had lunch and watch the college football playoff games..."

View on Google"I always favored this hotel compared to others, you simply can’t beat the location. You will not find staff that works harder to get you a room. They are extremely accommodating, and I can’t thank them enough for this. Huge perk being they went above and beyond when they let me check into my room a little early. After traveling 24+ hrs and having 2 delayed flights….Not only a huge relief but they are glad to help do so. Very generous of them. On my most recent visit I had the pleasure of checking in with a nice young lady with blonde hair. She did everything she could to make sure I was taken care of throughout my stay, with a smile on her face. She went out of her way to make me copies of a paper for work and an envelope to put them in. Also had a shuttle prompt when I needed it. Really enjoyed the van driver as well. Great conversation the whole way to the airport. Rooms are shining clean with a great view either way. Food is delicious. 10/10"
