“Great location on river and right off of the Interstate. Lobby is clean and spacious—a good atmosphere for gathering with others. Hotel room was clean and quiet. Great water pressure in shower. Bed was very comfortable. Fire pit on back patio overlooking river. Efficient, friendly, and helpful staff and general manager. We arrived around 8 p.m. and general manager had wonderful suggestions for local dining experience. We looked at several other hotels in area and are glad we chose this one. Yes, we paid $10 for parking; however, the room rate was reasonable and this hotel was much cleaner than the others we considered. “We had a great stay at the Courtyard in downtown Charleston. The beds were comfy, there is 24 hour coffee, tea and water. There is a bistro on site which was very good - we had dinner there when we arrived. There is a Shoney’s and a Wendy’s walkable from the hotel. It was very nice to not have to drive anywhere after checking into the room. The laundry is free but you need to provide your own detergent. They have some for sale in the little marketplace at the front desk. The location is easy to access from the freeway. It is very close to the capitol building and civic center.
