What Guests Are Saying
“Great location on river and right off of the Interstate. Lobby is clean and spacious—a good atmosphere for gathering with others. Hotel room was clean and quiet. Great water pressure in shower. Bed was very comfortable. Fire pit on back patio overlooking river. Efficient, friendly, and helpful staff and general manager. We arrived around 8 p.m. and general manager had wonderful suggestions for local dining experience. We looked at several other hotels in area and are glad we chose this one. Yes, we paid $10 for parking; however, the room rate was reasonable and this hotel was much cleaner than the others we considered. This Courtyard Marriott is a great choice when staying in Charleston, W.V.” — merlionease, 5 stars
“We had a great stay at the Courtyard in downtown Charleston. The beds were comfy, there is 24 hour coffee, tea and water. There is a bistro on site which was very good - we had dinner there when we arrived. There is a Shoney’s and a Wendy’s walkable from the hotel. It was very nice to not have to drive anywhere after checking into the room. The laundry is free but you need to provide your own detergent. They have some for sale in the little marketplace at the front desk. The location is easy to access from the freeway. It is very close to the capitol building and civic center. We would stay here again.” — M W., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Courtyard Charleston Downtown/Civic Center.
"Fantastic hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and really bent over backward to make our stay pleasant. We had several changes to our plans while we were visiting and the staff worked to make sure our every need was met. The general manager, Cindy, was absolutely exceptional- just a wonderful person. The rooms were nicely appointed and clean. The food at the bistro was very good. I want to come back to Charleston just to see Cindy and the Courtyard staff. Overall excellent experience!"

View on Google"I stayed here for a convention after weighing the pros and cons of 5 hotels. I’m so glad I chose this one. I was remembered daily and treated with kindness. The staff at the bistro were very sweet, and the food was better than I expected. The cookie was a wonderful treat after a long day. The room was clean and smelled fresh. The shower was modern and clean. The bed was very soft and comfortable. I prefer a firmer bed, but after sleeping on rock hard hotel beds, I’m very happy with a plush mattress. No bugs, no mold, no weirdness. The rooms could be more sound proof, but it wasn’t worse than any other hotel I’ve been to. Overall it was a great stay and I will be staying here for my Charleston needs in the future!"

It makes such a difference when you're not at home and at another place for long periods of time. Everyone was kind and helpful. Advised me of great places to eat and overall a great experience."
