Best Western Plus Coastline Inn
"Riverfront value inn on the Cape Fear Riverwalk in historic downtown with river-view rooms and free breakfast."
About The Hotel
A 4.3-rated riverfront inn in the heart of historic Wilmington, the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn is the only hotel on the Riverwalk itself. River-view rooms, a free breakfast and a walkable downtown location make it ideal for travelers who want to stay amid the antebellum district’s restaurants, bars and galleries. Guests praise its proximity to the battleship and the Riverwalk atmosphere. Without a pool or in-room jacuzzi, its appeal is the walkable downtown experience rather than resort amenities. The pace is quieter than chain hotels on the beach corridors, and the location keeps you in the heart of Wilmington’s historic core.
What Guests Are Saying
“I was here for the 2026 Wilmington Marathon and was looking for a place to stay near the convention center for bib pickup and to be close to the finish line. The Best Western Coastline was perfectly fine for this purpose. Also, the hotel is walkable to many restaurants, cafes, and bars. Overall, the room was comfortable enough and met my needs. The staff even prepared snack bags for marathoners for the early AM departure to the starting line, which was a welcome gesture. However, I think the room rates were much higher than normal because of the event. I would not normally consider paying as much as I did at a BW property. Also, the hotel would not give me late checkout, which meant I had to finish the race fast enough to get back to my room, shower, and pack by 11 am. Luckily I was able to do this. The alternative would have been to book a second night or find a different hotel with a later checkout. If I were a regular BW customer it’s possible they may have given me one of the limited late checkout slots. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay and would consider the hotel again the next time I am in town.” — kwachamacallit, 5 stars
“We stayed one night in July 2025 at the Best Western Plus Coastline Inn in Wilmington, with family (2 adults and 2 teenagers), and we were delighted with our stay! Our double room with two queen beds was large, very clean and comfortable, with everything you need: TV, Wi-Fi, coffee machine and fridge. The staff was particularly welcoming and friendly, always available and warm. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the Riverwalk, making it easy to enjoy the historic center of Wilmington on foot. The location is great for exploring the city without having to travel by car. The building itself is charming, brick, with a nice setting by the river. A fine balance between modern comfort and local character. Services: paid parking, ice machine, breakfast included (very good). No swimming pool. In summary: a nice hotel, well located, very clean and with top staff. We recommend without hesitation!” — roadtrippin.fr, 5 stars
“I was prepared to be disappointed with this place but was pleasantly surprised! The room was a suite and had a nice payout with lots of space, clean and amazing views. A balcony would have been nice, especially with those views, but that is hard to find in a hotel. Location was great, close the amphitheater and in the middle of downtown destinations. Nice shower with “rainfall” shower head.” — mike M., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Best Western Plus Coastline Inn.
"They share a parking lot with the railroad museum and Aloft. The view of Cape fear river is great. You are on the Riverwalk. The breakfast service is diligently managed in the best way. The rooms are older, but kept clean and sleek. The desk staff is friendly enough. You do have to pay $15 for parking. No complaints. We would stay here again."

The room was nice and clean with a great view of the waterway. The hot water in the shower was nice and HOT, and the rainfall shower head was awesome. They offer a complimentary breakfast (including eggs and meat). Overall great stay!"

View on Google"The staff, along with location, makes this a great place to stay! Right on the Riverwalk, easy walking to everything, but the staff is truly what makes this hotel. Sam at the front desk, Dione, supervisor at the front desk, CiCi in housekeeping, and many others whose names we did not get, But all were welcoming and helpful. It is an older hotel it appears, but clean room with comfortable bed. What the hotel lacks in newness, the staff more than makes up for. We have already booked our next stay in October."
