About The Hotel

A 3.4-rated (1,061 reviews) full-service hotel near Duke and downtown, with an outdoor pool, shuttle and conference facilities. A pool hotel rather than an in-room-jacuzzi property, with softer room and value scores (rooms 3.3)—the soak here is by the pool. We flag it candidly as a dated value base where expectations should be set. Some guests praise the friendly staff and convenient location; others note outdated decor and cleanliness concerns. Best for value travelers near Duke who want a low-cost pool base and book with eyes open. Near Duke University and downtown Durham.

What Guests Are Saying

“Cecilia was a big help with getting my vacation started. As a returning customer, I am always pleased to come and talk to the Front Desk clerk. Unfortunately, the cookies are not being handed out anymore. 😂 that was one of my favorite things, but I definitely enjoy this hotel. The pool and Jacuzzi is always at a great temperature just for you and your friends or family to have fun. The breakfast is amazing. It’s a buffet with anything that you can imagine. I greatly appreciate the courtesy and cleanliness of this hotel. Shortly, if you’re staying around this area, please stop by and give them a try Robert Nobles - Smith” — Pioneer02512658467, 5 stars

“This is the second time that I am staying in this hotel. It is tranquil, clean, very reasonably priced, located just near Duke campus and hospital, and restaurants, with competent and friendly staff. Both times, the staff allowed early checkin without extra changes. During my stays, the staff did their best to quickly address any needs or issues, and particularly I was very pleased that one of the staff, Cecilia, was able to smoothly organize my stays between several consecutive reservations booked with different services and overall provided the most helpful and thoughtful service.” — O K., 5 stars

“This hotel was the perfect place to unwind. The atmosphere was peaceful, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything was clean and well organized. I left feeling refreshed and would happily return.” — Jeamy A., 5 stars

"My stay here was a wonderful surprise! I have to give full marks. The location is unbeatable—it’s super close to Duke University, and the free shuttle bus makes commuting to campus incredibly convenient. It saved me so much time and hassle. The environment is also lovely; the rooms are cozy, clean, and the overall atmosphere is very comfortable. I especially want to praise Eda at the front desk. She has such a positive and welcoming attitude. She was efficient during check-in and very patient. When I realized I had left my luggage/item ("yila") behind, I contacted the hotel worried I might not get it back. However, Eda handled everything perfectly. She kept my item safe and intact, and I received it back completely. Additionally, their email communication was excellent—responses were always prompt and professional. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Duke. I will definitely choose to stay here again next time!"

"The millennium Hotel was a great experience for me. The room was clean and cleaned daily. The Entrance front staff was helpful from start to finish. I did not get the lady’s name with the straight black hair at the front desk, But she was kind, went out of her way and helpful. In the restaurant, the lady named Amal greeted us every morning. She was always Inquiring whether we would like Orange juice or some kind of other Beverage. Our meeting room was spacious. Overall great service."
