What Guests Are Saying
“My girlfriend and I are locals in the Raleigh/Cary area and decided to book a night at The Mayton to celebrate her birthday — and it absolutely delivered. Sometimes the best trips are the ones closest to home, and this was a perfect reminder of that. The hotel has a wonderfully quaint, boutique feel that you just don’t get at larger chain properties. The location in downtown Cary is ideal — walkable and convenient without feeling busy or touristy. The real standout for us was Peck & Plume. The food was exceptional, the service was warm and attentive, and the whole dining experience felt special without being stuffy. Exactly what you want for a celebration. If you’re a local looking for a night away without the hassle of travel, or a visitor wanting a charming alternative to the big Raleigh hotels — The Mayton is the answer. We’ll absolutely be back.” — Damon W., 5 stars
“This hotel is perfectly positioned in the center of Cary’s downtown. We had a great time staying there. It was cute and quaint with areas to sit and relax both inside and out. Only suggestion: - tell folks about the free parking lot across the street as well as the permitted parking area The rooms are very comfortable and updated. They have a desk and a sitting chair as well as a nice sized closet and dresser. The bathroom Is also very nice. There is a really nice park with fountains and a botanical garden as well as restaurants in walking distance. There are many trails nearby as well. Very safe neighborhood. Very walkable. We walked to most places that were in the neighborhood. Lots of cute coffee shops nearby as well as other types of food for lunch, dinner, and snacks. Free parking near the hotel and across the street.” — Jessica L., 5 stars

What guests are saying about The Mayton.
"★★★★★+ Mayton Hotel, Cary, North Carolina – truly a home away from home Even if you travel frequently for business, cross half the world, and spend roughly 14 hours door to door, arriving at the Mayton Hotel doesn’t feel like checking in — it feels like coming home. Why is that? This hotel gets everything exactly right that you need to feel comfortable and at ease. From the moment you pull up, there is a special sense of arrival. The view is beautiful, calm, and distinctive. You are in the heart of North Carolina, one of today’s major hubs for artificial intelligence, IT, and rapid technological change — and yet, the moment you step inside, you enter a different world: warm, grounded, and human. A huge part of this feeling comes from the people. The hospitality here is not scripted or superficial; it is genuine and heartfelt. You arrive tired and stressed from flights, time zones, and long days, and you are met with sincere friendliness. Your luggage is taken care of, and suddenly, you can breathe again. Walking into the lobby is an experience in itself: the soft glow of the fireplace, cozy seating areas, beautifully balanced colors, and outstanding artwork. The hotel gives a stage to local and regional artists, whose pieces are displayed throughout every floor and hallway. This gives the Mayton a unique character and a sense of authenticity that is rare. At the front desk, you are welcomed not as a room number, but as a person. A handshake and words like: “I saw that you were arriving today, and I’m really happy to see you again after such a long time.” Thank you for that, Paul — the feeling is truly mutual. That moment alone defines what makes this place special. After a smooth and warm check-in, you head to your room, which beautifully continues the hotel’s style. The design is elegant, thoughtful, and inviting. Everything is spotless and perfectly maintained. You can tell that housekeeping takes real pride in quality, and that attention to detail creates a deep sense of comfort and peace — the kind you usually only feel at home. One detail I especially love are the rocking chairs in front of the hotel. On warm days, they invite you to sit, relax, and soak in the North Carolina lifestyle — as if you were sitting on your own porch. People pass by, greet each other, smile, and exchange a few friendly words. It feels familiar, welcoming, and genuine. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, not only for business stays, but also as a place to truly switch off. Sitting by the fireplace with a book or striking up easy conversations with complete strangers comes naturally here. Thank you, Mayton Hotel, for creating a place with soul, warmth, and exceptional hospitality. This is more than a five-star experience — it’s a feeling of home."

There is a great vibe and it’s right on Cary Park and close to everything in Downtown Cary. I had a King Suite this time with a remodeled bathroom! It was spacious with lots of windows and lovely views of the fall trees and quaint streets. Their restaurant has the best chef and servers. I’ve had delicious breakfasts there, brunches and dinners, and we even had our family Thanksgiving there! 🦃 I invite my colleagues to come visit me in the library for tea, or for drinks in the bar and patio. The servers make it special. They’re warm, friendly, knowledgeable and have always gone out of their way to make my stay and dining experiences special. Also, big shout out to Russel, Thomas and Paul for making my stay this time even more memorable."
