Where to stay
Not every area in Ogunquit hits the same vibe. Here's where each verified property actually sits, and what each pocket feels like at night.
Along Route 1 near the village center, where shops, restaurants, and the trolley converge. Best for travelers who want to walk to dinner and be in the thick of Ogunquit's action without venturing far from the beach and Marginal Way. The Gazebo Inn, Meadowmere, and Sea View Motel are all here.
The northern Main Street stretch toward Footbridge Beach and the Ogunquit River — about a mile from downtown but walkable and often better value. Suites with kitchenettes and in-room whirlpool tubs are common here. Best for families and beachgoers who prioritize space and pool amenities over being steps from village restaurants.
Along Shore Road toward Perkins Cove, where oceanfront properties sit right on the water with direct Marginal Way access and sunrise over the Atlantic. Best for couples seeking views, sound-of-surf sleeps, and the ability to walk the clifftop trail from your doorstep.
Things to do in Ogunquit
Ogunquit offers a rare mix of natural beauty and cultural attractions within walking distance of one another. Ogunquit Beach is a 3.5-mile stretch of white sand where the Ogunquit River meets the Atlantic; it's the town's crown jewel, with calm water near the Footbridge and rolling waves toward Main Beach. The famous Marginal Way is a paved 1.25-mile clifftop coastal path from town to Perkins Cove, lined with benches and ocean overlooks — one of Maine's signature walks, best at sunrise or sunset.
Perkins Cove sits at the end of the Marginal Way, a working harbor of colorful lobster boats, galleries, and waterfront restaurants anchored by a picturesque drawbridge. Just uptown, the Ogunquit Playhouse stages Broadway-caliber musicals from late May through October, drawing theater lovers from across New England. The Ogunquit Museum of American Art (OMAA) is a small oceanfront gem with rotating galleries and gardens overlooking the sea.
For a hassle-free beach day, the seasonal trolley loops the beach, downtown shops, and Perkins Cove for a small fare — saving the parking headache. Year-round, lobster and seafood are everywhere: steamed lobster shacks dot downtown and Perkins Cove, and fine-dining seafood restaurants line the waterfront. In December, Christmas by the Sea and the Christmas Prelude weekend light up the Footbridge with holiday cheer — an ideal time for a warm soak in an in-room hot tub between festive outings.
Make a night of it
A hot tub stay in Ogunquit isn't just about the soak — it's about what you do before you slip in. These pairings turn an ordinary night into a story you'll repeat.
Time your Marginal Way walk for late afternoon, stroll the 1.25-mile clifftop from town to Perkins Cove as the light softens, and return to your hotel for a long soak in your in-room jacuzzi or whirlpool tub. The Gazebo Inn's steam showers and the Meadowmere's fireplace suites make this especially memorable.
Catch a Broadway-caliber musical at the Ogunquit Playhouse (May–October), return to your oceanfront or in-room hot tub, and unwind under the stars. The Anchorage's outdoor hot tubs and Gazebo Inn's saltwater tub are perfect for post-show relaxation.
Walk or drive to Perkins Cove, grab steamed lobster at a harborside shack, and spend the afternoon poolside at your hotel with cold drinks. The Meadowmere's indoor Roman spa and outdoor pool, or Driftaway's large pool, extend the day beautifully.
Spend the morning at Ogunquit Beach or Footbridge Beach, return to your suite for a warm shower, and settle in for the evening by a fireplace while soaking in a spa-tub. The Meadowmere's fireplace suites and Driftaway's king jacuzzi rooms offer this cozy contrast.
Visit in early December for the Christmas Prelude's Footbridge holiday lighting and town festivities, then retreat to your warm in-room whirlpool or jacuzzi for a quiet evening soak. The InnSeason's whirlpool suites and Sea View's proximity to downtown make this especially easy.

Getting here
Ogunquit sits on U.S. Route 1, the scenic coastal highway, with I-95 (Maine Turnpike) exits at Wells and York just minutes away. Portland International Jetport (PWM) is about 40 minutes north; Boston Logan (BOS) is roughly 1 hour 20 minutes south — many visitors fly into either. The Amtrak Downeaster stops in Wells, 10 minutes north, with direct connections from Boston and Portland.
Downtown Ogunquit is walkable, but a car is helpful for arriving and exploring the broader coast. Summer parking is limited and paid; the small-fare seasonal trolley loops the beach, downtown, and Perkins Cove, letting you park once and ride, which saves stress during peak season. If you fly in, a rental car makes the day trips up and down Route 1 — to Wells, Kennebunkport, York Beach, and Portland — easy, but within Ogunquit itself the trolley and your own two feet are usually all you need in summer.
When to visit
Hot tub stays read differently in February than they do in July. Here's what to expect across the year — temperatures, signature events, the local vibe, and how rates move.
Tub types, explained
Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.
Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.
Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.
In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.
Every listing on this page specifies which type you'll find in the room. We list only properties with the tub in your room — not in a shared pool area or the lobby spa.

Why trust us
Every hotel on this page has been personally verified to have a private, in-room hot tub or jacuzzi — not a shared pool tub, not a bathroom soaker, not a spa amenity you have to book. We cross-check three sources for every listing: the hotel's own room photos and descriptions, recent guest reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and direct confirmation from the hotel where unclear. We don't take payment for placement, and we don't generate listings with AI. If a hotel's tub status changes or a property closes, the page updates the next time we re-verify the city (Dothan was last checked May 2026).
