Portland International Jetport (PWM) is the nearest major airport, roughly 45 minutes southwest. U.S. Route 1 crosses the Kennebec at Bath; both hotels sit just off it near downtown. A car is strongly recommended for exploring the mid-coast, though downtown Bath itself is very walkable once parked. For train travel, the Amtrak Downeaster terminates in nearby Brunswick, about 15 minutes west. Camden lies an hour northeast; Boston is roughly 2.5 hours south. Free parking is available at both hotels. Once you have parked, Bath’s compact downtown is a pleasure on foot, with shops, restaurants, and the riverfront all within a few blocks; a car is mainly for reaching Popham Beach, the Maritime Museum, and the Phippsburg and Georgetown peninsulas just south of town.
