What Guests Are Saying
“I don’t write reviews all of the time, but I am very particular when it comes to food and service — and these were without a doubt the BEST crab cakes I have ever had in my life. Absolutely packed with crab, perfectly seasoned, and cooked beautifully. Every bite was incredible. Even the sides were fresh and delicious, and the sauce paired with the crab cakes was amazing. What made the experience even better was the staff. Friendly, attentive, welcoming, and genuinely kind from beginning to end. You can tell they truly care about their guests and the overall experience. I’m currently staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Newark-University of Delaware for a task force assignment helping with the Power of M transition, and this meal honestly made my night after a long day. Thank you A special shout out to the Manager Rebecca and AGM Michael for running such a beautiful hotel with an outstanding team. It absolutely shows. Also, a huge thank you to the bartender who was not only tending bar, but also waiting tables and taking care of guests all evening with such a positive attitude and amazing service. That level of teamwork and hospitality does not go unnoticed. The front desk team picked up the new system very fast and showed confidence navigating through the new system. They are ROCK STARS! If you’re anywhere near Newark, Delaware — get the crab cakes. You will not regret it And now I know why they are rated #1! I give them a 10 out of 10!!” — Patricia C., 5 stars
“Staff was super helpful when we arrived. Alex was a pleasure at the front desk. Ample parking. We had a trailer we needed to park. It’s very clean, the rooms are quiet and the ventilation system is whisper quiet- not a noisy PTac like some hotels. We were traveling from Florida to NY and wanted something a little away from 95. This was perfect. Cute college town and easy to get to.” — Michael M., 5 stars
“Nothing to complain at all. Everything that you would seek from a hotel, you name it and they have it. The room space, the patio, the facilities, the services, the staff, the overall infrastructure. Just one challenge: We left one shirt behind. Nobody reached out from their Lost&Found team. Didn’t get any response too even after multiple calls/follow-ups.” — Ashish D., 4 stars

What guests are saying about Courtyard by Marriott Newark-University.
"A truly top notch experience. I was in for a 2 day business conference. The service surrounding the conference, provided by the hotel, was excellent. The food was at the same level. Hard to believe, but the crab cakes at the bar/restaurant were the best I've ever had. Never expected that. The staff was attentive and friendly. The room was clean and well supplied with necessities. A truly enjoyable stay!!"

View on Google"We had a great stay at this hotel. The location was really good for being close to the University, and the room was nice. But the hotel staff was amazing. Taj (at the front desk) was particularly great. I needed help finding a larger bag for ice (for a bad knee), plus help with a few other things. He was upbeat, friendly, and always willing to help. It's the kind of customer service I wish everyone had!"

Chloe and Stacie were super helpful and quick to get us a block for our wedding. We heard nothing but great things about their stay from our guests as well."
