What Guests Are Saying
“We enjoyed a clean room and staff friendly three day stay. The hotel was busy as it hosted members of a least two weddings going on the weekend we were there. The center of Wallingford is about a ten minute drive loaded with restaurant choices. In the hotel itself, guests can enjoy a pool, a basic workout room, very good breakfast (not included btw) and food and drink in a casual atmosphere after 5 pm. There are lots of outdoor seating areas weather permitting. One word of caution should you choose cocktail hour at the hotel bar are the exorbitant prices that can rival 5 star hotels. Yes, a light beer was $9. Mixed drinks, well it depends. In our experience, a certain bartender, Kevin, could be heard asking every patron if they wanted a double. Most people in the spirit of the moment will say “sure”. What you get is not a true double but a drink with top shelf spirits like Tito’s. Cost: $19 per drink. Do the math, two light beers and two vodka club for example will run you $57. A bit out of line for this type of establishment in our opinion and the only disappointment of our stay.” — PZFLY, 4 stars
“Hotel is getting old without upgrading. Needs a remodel. We have stayed here many times. This time the hotel is showing its age.” — nhscooper, 3 stars
“The stay would have been fine if I was charged for the appropriate number of nights that I stayed. I needed to check out 2 days early, confirmed with the front desk, and then was still billed for an additional 2 days. Then upon calling the hotel to correct the error, I was hung up on and pushed to a general operator. No other way to describe it other than robbery.” — Vincent F., 1 star

What guests are saying about Hilton Garden Inn Wallingford / Meriden.
"A good stay at HGI. This is probably the best smelling hotel I've ever been in. My first thought was a lady with amazing perfume must have walked through the hallway 2 minutes before I did. Then I realized this must be a cleaner or air freshener. I don't know but it was amazing. Clean and quiet room. Hallway smells nice. Will be my preferred hotel in the area now."

Price per night was also reasonable. Overall served as the perfect place for us to stay while going back and forth to our friends wedding. There was a pool and it looked nice although we didn’t have time to use it"

I was going to stay at a prior hotel but decided to try the Hilton. In the past I have worked for the Hyatt at Coconut Point in Estero FL so I understand hotels. I was absolutely so glad I stayed at the Hilton Garden. It's right off 91 North on route 68, and convenient to everything in both in the immediate area and central to the state of CT itself. I drove straight up from Florida to Meriden in just under 19 hours. When I arrived I was promptly greeted by Candace and Charlotte who checked me in quickly and efficiently. During my stay everyone went out of their way to accommodate both myself and my dogs. The hotel is beautiful, open, and inviting. They have a beautiful gas fireplace to warm up and talk family and friends. They have a restaurant on site serving delicious food. I was here for Christmas so it wasn't open but they have a large beautiful outdoor area with lots of chairs and fire pits. The room was clean, the showers hot and there was extreme water pressure. Originally I was on the fence rhin6I could save a little money and book a cheaper hotel but I am so glad I didn't. I absolutely loved the hotel, and it's warm inviting staff. If you are on the fence splurge a little bit and enjoy a world class hotel experience located in a beautiful rural area of Wallingford CT. Again thanks to Candace, Charlotte, Efrain, Shareen, and, Wafa. You guys are Rock stars!!!! Thanks for making it a Merry Christmas!!!!!!"
