About The Hotel

This 3.3-rated (1,685 reviews) full-service Hilton at First Stamford Place near I-95 exit 7 offers the broadest amenity stack in Stamford, including pool, tennis courts, and beach access. The property is designed for conference attendees and corporate event blocks, with substantial executive meeting space. Sub-ratings show 3.7 cleanliness and 3.9 location, but recent 2026 reviews repeatedly flag billing errors, room mix-ups, and service inconsistencies at the front desk. A May 2026 guest reported being given keys to an already-occupied room. Individual staff members receive praise, but operational issues dominate recent feedback.

What Guests Are Saying

“The hotel is in a good location off 95. We checked in late at 10 pm We had five parties in front of us. Long Garage was full! Had to park far away and pay for it. Just charge me an extra $25 for the room and make parking complimentary. Elevator in garage could use a realignment. Not level when reaching floors. Room was fine. Nothing special Light bulb was out in one lamp Conditioner bottle wasn’t on wall. One of the two bathroom hooks was missing. People next door to us were loud in conversation. Would I stay here again? Probably because of the location but a manager should review each room to make sure the little things aren’t missing We did online checkout and bill was correct.” — Stephanie W., 4 stars

“I would still to give this property five stars but as a Hilton team member I booked my reservation under the team member rate and I was told that my reservation was not in the system and came up in OnQ as a whole bunch of hashtags and symbols. There was a lovely gentleman from front desk agent that did what he was supposed to do and call his superior to assist him. Let me start with Mr. Rackoff … it was the most un pleasurable experience that I’ve ever experienced in my life. He told me he was unable to assist me in offering me my team member rate as I showed him my Hilton IDs to confirm that I am a Hilton employee and I booked directly through the Hilton team member application online. he explained to me that there is an integration issue they have been experiencing since they joined Doubletree. I told him that this was an inconvenience because his pre-shift should’ve consisted of him scrubbing his reservations to pinpoint what reservations looked faulty and to be told that my room type was no longer available and I could not be honored the team member rate. He said that I would need to book directly through the application again in order for me to get the rate and so I did and-he told me that there was nothing that he can do to help me and his superiors would not allow that whatsoever. I explained to him that I am a team member and so I proceeded to call corporate of which they confirmed that I am a team member andthere shouldn’t be any reason why I was not awarded the team member rate. Somehow Hilton connected me to Mr Rackoff of which he explained that he told me twice before that he was unable to do anything for me and that’s just the way it will be. I was traveling from New York to Connecticut with a newborn and a four year-old and my partner we intended on staying in a double queen bedroom and unfortunately I was not accommodated and had to pay $442 for two nights. He told me that there was nothing that he can do other than giving me $150 off and that’s about it. When I spoke to him on the phone after being connected with corporate I explained to him that I’m well aware of the procedures that he has to take because I’ve worked in accounting for quite some time and Mr Rackoff proceeded with a snarky remark and said that if I wanted his whole backstory he can give me a history of the hotels that he’s worked at. I told him the reason of this call was for me to get accommodated not to argue on the phone with someone. Fast forward to check out Abigail mighty was able to assist me and was very understanding. She didn’t have to apologize but instead she did and understood and was also there to help me verify on the phone that I am an indeed Hiltonteam member and I should’ve been treated much more better than what I experienced with Mr. Rockoff. I did not come with the intentions to argue with anyone but just to simply enjoy a stay that I always look forward to whenever I come to Connecticut while visiting family. I felt super inconvenienced especially traveling with my three month old daughter and my four year-old daughter all this way to be told that I couldn’t be helped and given snarky remarks. With that being said please give Abigail mighty a raise and please consider her for other opportunities within Hilton that she may excel in all that she does. You can definitely sense that Abigail has a strong passion and desire to want to be a part of a team and set a good precedent at the front office.” — stacey Y., 5 stars

“This is my third year staying at this property as part of a room block for an event. I am always so thankful that when I call ahead, Kelvin is willing to assist me with making sure my rooms with my friends are close by each other - this is very important to us! When I arrived, I spoke with Jevonni at the desk about some questions that I had and she was so friendly and kind, it was great to have a lovely human to help out. I ran into Gloria and Claudette in the lobby who helped me locate the coffee and microwaves multiple mornings in the a row and Sonia was so kind in making sure extra pillows and towels were delivered to my room! I also want to give a huge shout out to Richard O and Pino who I spoke to in the elevator - such great folks who were working on an issue, but still very friendly. And finally, a thanks to our banquets team, Ricardo and Steve - I ran into them filling water bubblers many times and it did not go unnoticed.” — michelle M., 5 stars

"Overall this was a great stay, my family and I stayed here on our way to Vermont and got a last minute room. The service was great especially employee, Annabelle and the breakfast was incredible too. There is a beautiful lounge area that was efficient for my brother (and other guest) to work during their stay. Overall very pleased"

"We stayed for over a week here, celebrating Xmas and it's been wonderful. I especially would like to recognize the front desk employees, they have been exceptional. I think I have met almost all of them, and would like to give an extra mention to Abigayle, Andrew, Monique and their Supervisor Kelvin. No request has been unfulfilled and sometimes even more. I have to give Kelvin the biggest Kudos, he is awesome. Have a great New Year Doubletree Stamford, you are exceptional."

"I've stayed here several times and really like it. The staff is really great. It's a big place with almost 400(?) rooms. Really no complaints. Real good breakfast. I've stayed at about 3-4 other hotels in the vicinity and really prefer this hotel. Real good overall experiences. Other hotels nearby, Stamford & Eastern Greenwich, all seem to have some sort of issue: either mediocre service or very pricey."
