About The Hotel
This 3-star Wyndham sits on Strongtown Road off I-84 in Southbury, offering large rooms and a pool at budget rates starting at $82/night. The property features a fitness center, bar, and pet-friendly accommodations. Recent guests praise the responsive staff for quick problem-solving and note good on-site food when the restaurant operates. However, the building shows its age with dated furnishings, and 2026 reviews mention beat-up furniture and design quirks like extremely high beds and showers without shelves. The in-room jacuzzi is available only in specific room types—confirm at booking. Positioned near Southford Falls State Park and the Housatonic River, it serves as a central base for foothills visitors.
What Guests Are Saying
“The staff was great, we had a faulty refrigerator and they replaced it immediately for us. I asked for an extra towel and they had in my room when I returned later in the day.” — Amy K., 5 stars
“The room was huge. The beds are super high. Extremely hard to get into for my elderly and disabled mom. The cot and love seat were extremely low and she couldn’t get out of cot. Her hips were lower than her knees and we had to pull her off of cot. I’m 5’4” and the bed was just a hair below my hip joint. Be careful if you have elderly or disabled people with you. It will be extremely tough to get into. Also you’ll have to slide off of bed” — Karen G., 3 stars
“Old beat up furniture in rooms. New showers have no shelves so you have to put soap and shampoo on floor. You have to get in shower to turn on water. Very Dumb design .Restaurant hours are 4 to 9. Got there at 6 and they told me they wanted to close early did get served then people poured in. They didn’t get to close early” — John M., 3 stars

What guests are saying about Wyndham Southbury.
"Went for a work conference this past week and it was great! Clean property and rooms, extremely friendly staff and a nice welcoming stay. I enjoyed both bartenders at the arrowhead lounge as both men were very nice and easy to talk to. They also made delicious lemon drop martinis! Also enjoyed some loaded tots and Buffalo cauliflower during their happy hour. Overall, my stay was nice and enjoyable."

View on Google"I stayed at Southbury Wyndham for a solo retreat away from the City to mourn my mom’s passing away. For the most part, the stay was quiet. However, on Saturday, I went out to be in nature and enjoy the waterfall at Kent State Park. When I returned to my room, I was met with loud barking in the room directly across from my room. The dog barked and barked most of the night. I love dogs, so I get it, that’s what they do, bark! All good. My room was comfortable and the shower was refreshing. I went to the front desk to ask for more toilet paper. Their cleaning crew came in when I was gone and used strong chemicals to clean the room. I didn’t ask for service but understand it’s their protocol. So I kept the do not disturb sign on my door after my first night. They didn’t clean my room after I asked the front desk about refusing cleaning each day. The hotel is large with beautiful views in October. They have a restaurant on site. I used Uber Eats for my meals. Overall, I’m glad I stayed here for 5 days. Four stars for the strong cleaning products."
