About The Hotel

At 3.8 stars across 283 reviews, it delivers budget-friendly rates starting at $98/night with included breakfast and parking. The property earns solid marks for location (4.3), room quality (4.0), and sleep comfort (4.2). However, recent 2025–2026 reviews document persistent maintenance and cleanliness issues: grimy furniture, lingering smoke odors, a broken pipe with no hot water for two consecutive nights, and a slippery lobby. A 2026 guest also reported a hard-to-resolve double-charge billing dispute. Management responsiveness remains inconsistent despite repeated complaints.
What Guests Are Saying
“Breakfast was okay, kinda sparse, but it is included, after all. The room smelled weird, like maybe cigarette smoke that had been cleaned but not completely gone, front desk advised it was probably coming from outside, but I don’t think the heater pulled from outside, it was recirculating. The heater blower motor was so noisy it woke me up at 3:00AM, I advised the front desk at checkout that the motor required oiling or replacement. I think that was my biggest complaint, hopefully they fixed it for the next guest. Some of the furniture looked tired, beat up corners and such, I just think the whole place needs a refresh, the building is nice, just needs some detail attention.” — Frontier G., 4 stars
“Our experience at The Comfort Inn & Suites in Meriden was less than comfortable.. The room was not clean. There were sticky/ grimy residue on all the furniture. ( TV console, desk, end tables and head boards of the beds. The sheets didn’t look clean. The top blanket had black hairs on both beds. The bathroom floor had dirt in the corner of the tub. Dry uncomfortable and gross. I slept with my hooded sweatshirt with my hood on because I didn’t want my head touching the pillow. I checked the reviews while we were there and a lot of them were saying they had the same experience from recently to over a year ago. And the management would reply that they would speak to the team.. Well, obviously they didn’t do anything about it, so it’s a management issue. If the management doesn’t care, then the workers won’t either. Management. DO YOUR JOB SO YOUR TEAM WILL DO THEIRS!!!” — Cindy D., 3 stars
“I stayed for 2 nights. The 1st day a pipe broke and the lobbie was a mess and slippery. The hot water left a lot to be desired. The 2nd day no hot water. The AG of CT need to perform some inspections in this place and shut it down. This is the dead of winter and no hot water - ridiculous. Then management is never at the front desk or answering phones as they leave it off the hook. Don’t stay here…” — KESHA S., 1 star
