About The Hotel

This 4.3-rated Hampton Inn (1,033 reviews) sits at 81 Newtown Road off I-84 exit 8 and has earned consistent praise from travel-hockey families and tournament groups. The property maintains a 4.6 cleanliness sub-rating and offers a reliable indoor pool, free breakfast, and free parking at the quoted rate. Staff responsiveness to large group needs is a strength, though a March 2026 review documented a rude check-in interaction. Rooms are clean but dated; some bathrooms are small. In-room jacuzzi suites are premium-specific rooms requiring confirmation at booking.

What Guests Are Saying

“Visited this property 5/14-5/17 for my son’s hockey tournament. The hotel was clean, good indoor pool, and very friendly and accommodating staff consistently across the board. We were there with our full hockey team and there were two or three other teams there at the same time. For those that do travel hockey you know this can be overwhelming for a hotel. They were wonderful , kept things in order and were friendly about keep the kids in order when they got out of hand which can happen. The breakfast area and conference rooms are in basement level which is also good as it keeps the noise level and activity level out of the lobby. Lobby also has a nice sitting area with a television. Gym well equipped, rooms nicely appointed. A little dated in the rooms but honestly that doesn’t bother us. Overall would highly recommend. Danbury Ice Rink close by which was also a huge plus. I have stayed in many similar hotels (even within the same brand) over the years for travel hockey and this one is a stand out. Be respectful to them and they are wonderful!!” — NicJean, 5 stars

“A nice stay - initially was concerned room 117 would be loud as it was near elevators and lobby, but no issue at all. Smallish bathroom but comfortable bed. We traveled with 2 dogs and the pet area was clean and well lit.” — Jennifer J., 5 stars

“The hotel was clean and quiet. We went in the middle of the week and had no issues. The staff was very kind.” — GrandTour778366, 4 stars

"When we checked in I was told about all of the amenities. While having dinner. I received a text if I needed anything else. I asked for two extra towels and two pillows. By the time I returned from dinner they were waiting for me. The hot tub was awesome. I could have stated it all day. This hotel is definitely one that I will be returning to."

"The location is great for getting off and on the highway in either direction. You can walk across the parking lot to a few different restaurants as well as a bank ATM. All the desk staff were excellent. This is probably one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in. House keeping was on top of everything. Maintenance guys were very polite. I see people complaining about smoking, but people smoke outside, including marijuana because it's legal, and I never saw a single cigarette butt on the ground the entire week I was there. Everything here is kept up. Coffee was always there and always hot. Pool area clean. The breakfast is pretty good given that it's included in the stay. The hotel isn't that big so it's easy to get around quick and there's plenty of parking in back once you get a room key that lets you in the back door. Appreciate the hospitality from everyone at the front desk!!"

"Great service. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Convenient breakfast. Would have been nice to post a notice not to slam the door. Closing the door gently is a simple manner and courtesy, but for those who don’t use brain, a notice by the door will help."
