West Broad Street / Short Pump Corridor

The West Broad Street corridor in Short Pump is Glen Allen's shopping-and-dining spine, anchored by Short Pump Town Center's outdoor lifestyle mall. The Drury Plaza Hotel Richmond (4.8, 330 reviews) sits on West Broad Street as the top-rated hotel in the area — near-perfect subratings across cleanliness, service, rooms and sleep quality, with a pool, free hot breakfast, and evening kickback with free drinks and hot appetizers. Best for Richmond visitors wanting the highest-rated brand hotel in the northwest suburb with walking-distance access to Short Pump's dining.

Virginia Center Parkway / Meadow Event Park Corridor

Things to do in Glen Allen

Beyond the hotel room

Glen Allen's attractions concentrate on the Short Pump shopping district, Meadow Event Park and quick drives into downtown Richmond. Short Pump Town Center is the walkable outdoor lifestyle mall with Nordstrom, chef restaurants and a central plaza. Meadow Event Park hosts the State Fair of Virginia every October along with year-round equestrian shows and Secretariat's historic barn. The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in downtown Richmond (about 15 minutes south) is one of the top museums in the Southeast with free admission. The Science Museum of Virginia occupies the historic Broad Street Union Station downtown. The Fan District and Carytown offer Richmond's walkable dining-and-shopping neighborhoods. The University of Richmond campus is a short drive south with its gothic architecture and Belle Isle nearby on the James River. Deep Run Park and the West Creek trails offer suburban hiking. The Virginia Center Commons area anchors the northern retail district. Innsbrook is Glen Allen's corporate office park with Innsbrook After Hours summer concert series. Spring cherry blossoms across the University of Richmond, summer State Fair prep, fall foliage at Meadow Event Park and winter holiday shopping at Short Pump shape the year.

There is more within easy reach: Innsbrook Corporate Park — Glen Allen's business hub; Kings Dominion theme park; The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen. Seasonal highlights include The Virginia State Fair at Meadow Event Park (late September/early October), Innsbrook after Hours weekly concert series (May–September), Kings Dominion WinterFest (November–December).

For couples

Why a Glen Allen hot tub suite works for romance

Glen Allen's two hotels serve different couples niches — the Drury Plaza Hotel Richmond (4.8) offers the highest-rated brand-hotel base in the northwest Richmond suburb with a pool, free breakfast and evening drinks, ideal for a Short Pump dining weekend. The Virginia Crossings Tapestry Collection is a historic-estate resort with a golf course and conference-center scale — better for group events than an intimate couples stay. Neither hotel has an in-room jacuzzi. For a genuine private soak, couples should drive north to Fairfax's Stafford House B&B (Virginia's state marquee with an in-suite jacuzzi and private sauna) or east to Colonial Williamsburg's historic-district lodging.

Many of the Glen Allen properties below offer extras on request — champagne service, rose-petal turn-down, or late check-out. Mention your occasion at booking; most front desks try to help.

"This is a very unique hotel. Arriving to the hotel late at night was quite the experience, as well, because of the appearance of the hotel at night. The staff here were very friendly, but peppery and room feels a little bit dated. The hotel is very cool and eclectic though and I would still definitely recommend to stay here."

Tub types, explained

What's the difference between a jacuzzi, whirlpool, and soaking tub?

Jacuzzi

Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.

Whirlpool

Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.

Soaking tub

Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.

Hot tub

In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.

Every listing on this page specifies which type you'll find in the room. We list only properties with the tub in your room — not in a shared pool area or the lobby spa.

Why trust us

Hand-verified. No AI filler.

Every hotel on this page has been personally verified to have a private, in-room hot tub or jacuzzi — not a shared pool tub, not a bathroom soaker, not a spa amenity you have to book. We cross-check three sources for every listing: the hotel's own room photos and descriptions, recent guest reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and direct confirmation from the hotel where unclear. We don't take payment for placement, and we don't generate listings with AI. If a hotel's tub status changes or a property closes, the page updates the next time we re-verify the city (Dothan was last checked May 2026).
