Where to stay

Best areas in Danville for a hot tub stay

Not every area in Danville hits the same vibe. Here's where each verified property actually sits, and what each pocket feels like at night.

South Boston Road / US-58 (Caesars-adjacent corridor)

South Boston Road (US-58) is Danville's casino-adjacent value corridor. Best Western Windsor Inn (3.8, 376 reviews) is the GENUINE in-room-jacuzzi option — traveler photos confirm a King room with a jacuzzi hot tub, though the property is dated with candid flags including smelly hallway, tub stain, dead bug, sunflower seeds in a room, and overpricing during Caesars events. Sleep Inn & Suites Danville Hwy 58 (4.0, 103 reviews) is the reliable value pool-and-hot-tub Choice property with a well-maintained outdoor pool and adjoining whirlpool with a waterfall feature. Best for casino visitors and travelers who accept BW Windsor's condition trade-offs for the in-room jacuzzi.

Riverside Drive / Caesars Virginia (River District access)

On Riverside Drive with Caesars Virginia casino three miles east, the Courtyard by Marriott Danville (4.2, 258 reviews) is the top-rated hotel in the city — a fully renovated Marriott with a seasonal outdoor saltwater pool, The Bistro bar/lounge, fitness center, pet-friendly rooms and 2026 Certificate of Excellence recognition. Cleanliness (4.6), location (4.4), rooms (4.4) and service (4.3) all run strong. Best for travelers wanting the top-rated Danville pick near Caesars Virginia and the River District without in-room-jacuzzi expectations.

Things to do in Danville

Beyond the hotel room

Caesars Virginia casino, hotel and entertainment complex opened east of downtown and anchors Danville's new tourism economy, with gaming, dining, live entertainment and event space that spike hotel rates on show weekends. The Danville River District has been revitalized with restaurants, breweries, galleries and lofts along the Dan River — the River District Farmers Market runs Saturdays May through October.

The Dan River Riverwalk Trail runs about 8 miles along the river with pedestrian bridges and river-access points, and Dan Daniel Memorial Park and Angler's Park offer boat launches, mountain-biking trails and green space along the river. The Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History occupies the Sutherlin Mansion (the last capitol of the Confederacy for a week in April 1865), and the Danville Science Center at the historic Southern Railway train station is a hands-on family destination.

The AAF Tank Museum houses over 100 armored vehicles and is one of the largest tank collections in the U.S. Ballou Park anchors the annual Festival in the Park (September) and Danville Harvest Jubilee outdoor concerts run through the summer.

There is more within easy reach: Caesars Virginia casino and entertainment; Danville River District restaurants and breweries; Dan River Riverwalk Trail (8 miles); Danville Museum at the Sutherlin Mansion; AAF Tank Museum with 100+ armored vehicles. Seasonal highlights: spring is Dan River paddling weather, summer is peak riverfront and concert season, fall brings crisp Blue Ridge day trips, and winter is quiet with off-season rates and quieter casino weekdays.

For couples

Why a Danville hot tub suite works for romance

For couples, Danville is one of the few cities on the site with a genuine in-room jacuzzi option — but with a strong asterisk. The Best Western Windsor Inn has a real King with a jacuzzi hot tub (traveler-photo confirmed), but the property is dated with candid smelly-hallway, tub-stain and dead-bug flags, so book only if you value the tub over the condition. The Sleep Inn Hwy 58 offers a shared outdoor pool with an adjoining hot tub as an alternative. For a top-rated pick without in-room jacuzzi, the Courtyard by Marriott near Caesars Virginia is the honest choice. If a boutique in-room jacuzzi matters, drive two hours north to Louisa for Prospect Hill Inn or four hours north to Fairfax for the Stafford House B&B.

Many of the Danville properties below offer extras on request — champagne service, rose-petal turn-down, or late check-out. Mention your occasion at booking; most front desks try to help.

Courtyard by Marriott Danville

4.1·465 Google reviews

"This is supposed to be a 3-star hotel if I'm not wrong but wow it deserves to be at least a 4-star! The service is really way better than a normal 3-star hotel! The room has a lot of space with its own microwave and coffee machine! They change the towels everyday unlike most 3-star hotels! Will definitely come back if I go to Danville again!"

— Harpreet Singh, 2 months ago · 4/5

"They were going through a major renovation so I understand some of the noise. Other than that, the room were great. I do hope they replace the elevator soon because they were out of order for quite a while while we were there but other than that excellent place great option to the casino hotels."

Getting here

How to reach Danville

Danville sits along US-29 (Piedmont Drive) and US-58 (South Boston Road) in south-central Virginia on the North Carolina line, about 50 minutes north of Greensboro Piedmont Triad International Airport and 90 minutes southeast of Roanoke Regional. A car is essential — Danville has limited public transit and the attractions are spread across the city, from Caesars Virginia east of downtown to the River District at the Dan River, the AAF Tank Museum southeast, and Angler's Park north along the river. Both hotel clusters (South Boston Road value strip and Riverside Drive Courtyard) offer free parking. Downtown River District parking is straightforward on-street or in surface lots. For Blue Ridge day trips, US-29 north reaches Lynchburg in about an hour and Charlottesville in about two hours; the drive to Roanoke via US-58 west and US-220 is about 90 minutes through Franklin County. US-58 (South Boston Road) is the main east-west corridor; US-29 (Piedmont Drive) is the main north-south route.

Tub types, explained

What's the difference between a jacuzzi, whirlpool, and soaking tub?

Jacuzzi

Technically a brand name, but used generically for any jetted tub. In hotel listings, "jacuzzi suite" almost always means a private in-room tub with built-in air or water jets. Heat is usually preset; jets are user-controlled.

Whirlpool

Functionally identical to a jacuzzi — water jets circulate heated water for a massage effect. The term is more common at Marriott, Hilton, and Wyndham brands. Most "whirlpool suites" hold two adults comfortably.

Soaking tub

Deeper than a standard bathtub, usually 18–22 inches, but with no jets. Common in boutique and luxury hotels — quieter, more spa-like, and better for a long hot soak than the jet-driven hum of a jacuzzi.

Hot tub

In strict use, a standalone heated tub holding 100°F+ water. In hotel marketing, often used interchangeably with jacuzzi or whirlpool. A genuine in-room "hot tub" with full thermostat control is rare outside cabin-style resorts.

Every listing on this page specifies which type you'll find in the room. We list only properties with the tub in your room — not in a shared pool area or the lobby spa.

For Casino event traveler Do Danville hotel rates spike during Caesars events?

Yes. Reviewers at both the Best Western Windsor Inn and the Sleep Inn Hwy 58 report elevated rates during Caesars Virginia show nights and weekends — one Windsor guest called $255 overpriced for the property's condition. Book well ahead or shift to a weekday for casino-adjacent value.

Why trust us

Hand-verified. No AI filler.

Every hotel on this page has been personally verified to have a private, in-room hot tub or jacuzzi — not a shared pool tub, not a bathroom soaker, not a spa amenity you have to book. We cross-check three sources for every listing: the hotel's own room photos and descriptions, recent guest reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and direct confirmation from the hotel where unclear. We don't take payment for placement, and we don't generate listings with AI. If a hotel's tub status changes or a property closes, the page updates the next time we re-verify the city (Dothan was last checked May 2026).
