About The Hotel

Rates on request, The Birch Ridge is a 4.8 owner-run inn where Bill and Mary personally oversee every detail. The rooms are individually decorated, many with a jet tub and fireplace—the signature romantic draw. An on-site restaurant, bar, and fireside lounge, plus home-cooked breakfasts and attentive service, create the coziness couples seek. The inn is quiet and well-kept, minutes from Killington and Pico. Aimed at couples rather than families; restaurants are pricier, and summer rooms use portable AC (confirm cooling when booking).

What Guests Are Saying

“We stayed at this inn for our first experience of an out-of-state vacation We arrived in the middle of a snow storm with a front wheel drive SUV, having forgotten our snow jackets. Not only was the owner bill able to get our car up to the inn from the road and park it, but we were welcomed in right away. Mary and several other people immediately gave us many helpful suggestions to fix our jacket issue. We got the information on exactly where to go, how to get there, and who to talk to. Mary is so lovely, she followed up with us at breakfast. Her and bill are wonderfully hospitable and knowledgeable. Couples will absolutely LOVE the rooms. They are clean, beautiful, and unique. We loved the jet tub and fireplace in our room. We had Sunday dinner and breakfast everyday of our stay. All the food was amazing and served so beautifully. I have already recommended the inn to my mother and aunt. The whole inn is kept very well, the design and decorations really make you feel cozy and totally relaxed. We originally planned out vaccination with just prioritizing snowboarding but we were both blown away by the experience of staying at the inn.” — Katherine L., 5 stars

“This lodge is in perfect condition, luxuriously renovated and furnished, medium-small, homey, and quiet. The innkeepers, Mary and Bill, converted the lodge approx. 25 years ago and operate it with great care and affection. Breakfast was homemade by Mary and served by Mary, and utterly delicious. The restaurant and bar were attended by them, a server, and a chef, and the food, wine, and desserts were fantastic. The room was ultra-comfortable, with a very effective portable air conditioner. Mary and Bill were very knowledgeable about all the questions that we asked about the surrounding area. This was our dream lodging, and we can’t wait to return!” — Tony C., 5 stars

“This has to be one of the most comfortable places to stay for a nice getaway. Mary was the nicest Innkeeper I have personally met, along with the cozy room and delicious breakfast made this one of the nicest getaways I have been a part of. Can not recommend this place enough the next time you are in the area!” — Matt F., 5 stars

"Our 3-generation family had a reunion here, and we rented the entire inn for a week. It was a wonderful facility for our group! Large cozy and comfortable common spaces, a large commercial kitchen, beautiful outdoor spaces including lovely lights, and tables and chairs for all of us to enjoy hanging out or eating meals outdoors. The owner continues to upgrade this inn, and recently added a wonderful fire pit that we thoroughly enjoyed, with comfy chairs around it. They were very responsive to any questions or concerns and addressed everything immediately. We hope to be able to stay here again in the future!"

"We very much enjoyed our stay at this quaint family run location and both Bill and Mary made us feel very welcome. Rooms were nice and clean, and the common areas were very cozy with a roaring fire during the cold winter nights. The location was perfect, less than a mile from Killington and only a few miles from Pico mountain. The on-site restaurant was excellent with world-class food. Update: came back in 2022 still wonderful here although now they are only doing dinner Thursday through Sunday. Breakfast still served homemade each day!"

"Lovely Inn with really nice hosts. My husband and I ate dinner there both nights of our stay because the food is outstanding. We really enjoyed hanging out in the great room chatting with both visitors and locals. Our queen room was very clean and spacious. It was nice being able to open up the windows in our bedroom at night and turn on the fan in the room to circulate the fresh cool mountain air that allowed us to sleep very well. Overall I highly recommend this Inn."
