North Star Inn & Resort
"Budget Access Road pick from $130 with a heated pool, slope views, and on-site bar—rooms need updating."
About The Hotel
From $130/night, the North Star is a 3.5-rated, budget-friendly resort with wonderful bones—a heated pool, slope views, and a lively 4th-floor bar—but dated interiors. Rooms scored 3.3 on condition: tired carpets, peeling bathroom ceilings, and aging elevator are reported. The location shines (4.4 sub-rating), and some one-bedroom suites have in-room hot tubs; however, guests note loud AC, soft shower pressure, and extra cleaning fees. For a bit more, reviewers suggest nearby chain hotels. Best for skiers unbothered by worn aesthetics who value the pool and views.
What Guests Are Saying
“The location is very nice, the views of the ski slopes look great, and the lobby is warm and welcoming. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was clean, comfortable and a good price. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes and utensils. It was nice to have TVs in the living room and bedroom. The outdoor heated pool was amazing, we really enjoyed the hot temperature in the snowy weather. One of the best features of the North Star is the great bar and restaurant on the 4th floor. The food was delicious, the drinks excellent and the bartenders were friendly. It was a lovely Vermont Ski Week.” — Anne C., 4 stars
“Nice place nice heated pool fireplace and a short trip up access road to Killington. Nice small bar with good food up on 4th floor no need to go driving around.” — Scott W., 5 stars
“The North Star is a bit dated but the location is great for daytrips to central Vermont activities/attractions. Took the gondola up to Killington peak which we enjoyed. Visited Woodstock, the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller Nat Historic Site, Quechee Gorge (eh), hiked in Gifford State Park, shopped a little too. Just a nice stay doing local things. A/C units in the rooms worked fine but were very noisy. Kitchen amenities only fair. Hot tub in room nice. Would’ve liked a balcony.” — Nancy C., 3 stars

What guests are saying about North Star Inn & Resort.
"We love North Star. It’s one of the hotels we regularly stay at whenever we are in Killington over the years. It’s not fancy and needs a little updating but it’s perfect to rest, location is convenient on the access road, great heated outdoor pool, and we LOVE The Starlight Lounge. Fantastic bar with simple but very tasty food and both Dan and John are always wonderful to see whenever we stop by the bar. They have live music on weekends and there is also free coffee in the morning. We didn’t get top floor room this time so it was a little noisier than usual so I recommend asking for the 5th floor if you can. Can’t wait to visit again!"

View on Google"going off season so some stuff was closed but it was peaceful not many people. We got a regular room online got there and they let us upgrade to this amazing jacuzzi room for only 50 more as we were looking for one but said none were available online! This was just a night getaway to relax so definitely will book again 😊 you are not far from Rutland also so you could go into town as far as location goes but we were only there for the night so grabbed dinner. Would definitely recommend 👌"
