What Guests Are Saying

“We had a GOOFED BED on the first night! We headed to Castle Inn to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We booked a private cottage for two nights. We checked in at 4 pm and grabbed a great bite at the on-site restaurant. After a walk around the beautiful property to catch the sunset, we settled in for the night. Getting ready for the night - I jumped into bed -to jump right back out --- because it was very apparent it was DIRTY. The sheets from previous guests were never changed. We called the front desk, and a lovely woman raced down and changed and swapped out everything while I sat in my PJ’s, holding our puppy, in awe as I watched her be calm and polite to correct the concern over lite chit-chat. She did an amazing job, but the reality is - the experience somewhat put a damper on our first (to be romantic) night there. Then, the next day, the housekeeper removed our cozy hotel-supplied shirpa blanket, and we called to inquire where it had disappeared to, as it was overcast and I was looking to warm up on the couch. Moments later, the housekeeper returned it and rudely stated that the room is a dog room and that those blankets aren’t for guests with dogs (so odd). That evening, we returned from the chef tasting dinner to celebrate the birthday to find a silver poop can literally at the front of our door. I suppose our placement of clean-up bags - below the deck near the shrubs was not sufficient, but that was a bit brazen to place it there, out of all places available, to say the least. Had the room been prepared correctly at the time of our arrival, these headaches would not have happened. Andrew at the front desk upon departure was amazing and knew the issues that took place. He extended us a credit for our lunch and wine, thoughtful and appreciated. We will visit again as the resort is picturesque and the staff is overall absolutely wonderful, we just had a bad first start…and they had a wedding that day so it seemed they were a bit overwhelmed. Till next time - A.Meadows” — Alexis M., 3 stars

“We had a fabulous experience staying at Castle Hill, starting with our welcome champagne and ending with our walk around the 40 acres of grounds. In between we enjoyed a beautiful room with ocean views, delicious and overflowing lobster rolls in the bar and a truly delicious complimentary gourmet breakfast. Also included was a tasty teatime with amazing pastries and tea sandwiches. What really sealed the great experience was the attentive and friendly staff. They go above and beyond and know their jobs very well. The grounds and location make for a beautiful morning walk. I hope to make this an annual stay, we don’t live far and it made for a lovely staycation.” — jenniem715, 5 stars

“The view was not as spectacular as the balcony from our hotel. I’m glad we can cross it off the list as it wasn’t worth the money- worst clam chowder I ever had Only the cornbread made an impression” — Cara S., 2 stars

"[This is strictly for the restaurant!] WOW. 100/10. Go for sunset!! This is a must-see dinner spot if you are venturing to Newport area. Food, view and service were all an absolute 10/10. Cannot wait to go back another time. We went early/mid Oct so it wasn’t as crowded as it likely is in peak season but we still got there early (before 530) to get a good window seat in the dining area. The clam chowder was the best I’ve had to date. My husband ordered the duck and I’m not a big duck person but it was delicious. I also loved my turkey sandwich. And our waiter was incredibly attentive and kind."

"This is a great hotel with an excellent Restaurant. The views are spectacular especially during sunset. Enjoy sitting outside and enjoy your favorite libations, bring your friends and you will see some impressive yachts sail along the coastline. You can definitely make reservations at the restaurant if you dont want to stay here, but I recommend you get a room. You can dine at two restaurants the Aurelia and the Lawn Terrace. You will definitely enjoy what this place has to offer. I highly recommend you make a visit here."

"💎 where to begin!? ✨ This is the most enchanting property I’ve ever been on in my life. It is so Luxe and cozy the same time. I was privileged to have been chosen to work for a beautiful young lady having her rehearsal dinner for her wedding the following day today. She chose my service, BEST SALON NEWPORT, a concierge hairstyling service for discerning clientele, and I can only hope anyone staying in the future will choose me also, to be part of their special day!!! ✨🙏 Thank you!! Todd, BEST SALON NEWPORT"
