Maggie Valley sits along US-19 (Soco Road) in a Smoky Mountain valley in Haywood County, North Carolina. Asheville Regional Airport is about 50 minutes east; a car is essential to explore the mountains and the attractions. The Wheels Through Time museum, the Cataloochee Ski Area and Soco Falls are a short drive along Soco Road and the mountain roads. US-19 and the Blue Ridge Parkway connect Maggie Valley with Waynesville to the east, Cherokee to the west and Asheville to the northeast. Parking is available at all hotels, and a rental car is recommended for visiting the national park, the Parkway and the other scenic valleys. The museum, the ski area and the falls are a short drive along Soco Road and the mountain roads. Once you have arrived, plan to keep a car for day trips around the region; most attractions are an easy drive, and parking at the hotel is straightforward.
