“This was our ninth visit since 2018 & the properties remain as awe-inspiring & transcendental with every stay. We splurged this time out with the Faerie Forest on the Cottages side of the Falls location (check-in is here as well as the property two miles down the road.) We stayed on a Sunday night so the price was much less than the weekend. We’d always seen the cottages/buildings/suites on previous stays, but our budget wouldn’t allow it. But wow, was it worth it! The door itself (see picture) opens to a MAGICAL realm…one where faux flora, trees, twinkling lights and so much more just enchant beyond words. I don’t mean that superfluously, the suite (two floors) is beyond spectacular. Every millimeter of the two-bed (one upstairs, one downstairs), two bath suite is enthralling with the finest materials. To call it akin to a movie set would not be appropriate; it is better than that. Even the ceiling is adorned ornately so as if to feel one is looking up at an enchanted moon through the dense flora and twinkling lights atop. My favorite feature of the room was an interior balcony amid the wonder. And it is very, very luxurious in every sense of the word. The beds and bedding are wonderful…there’s a full refrigerator, microwave (I think)…nice table, both inside and outside on the screened balcony, which has the slightest bit of netting to keep the insects out without sacrificing the view. The fridge has beer (Michelob Ultra, Bud Light, Stella Artois.) The credenza has wine and glasses. The A/C and heat are quiet and powerful. This is state-of-the-art craftsmanship and an incredible vision. Next door to us was The Snack Shack, an honor thing where there is microwaveable pizzas, ice cream, candy and salty treats. So convenient. The Crooked Cabana (maybe seasonal only?) has a menu of burgers, flatbreads and more. They open at 12pm and close, I don’t know, 7pm? Two miles down the road, heading to the “motel” side, there’s a great restaurant called Chappie’s, which has amazing pub-like food, but more imaginative. I highly recommend them and to make reservations on the weekends. They also deliver. In town, there’s a cute grocery store that sells beer, liquor store, gas station and antique shop. After that, one can see the “motel” grounds---lush and manicured grounds with a babbling brook, funky lawn furniture, the Shimmer Spa (now a first-come, first-serve basis & need a key to get in.) I highly recommend exploring the grounds. The motel has two buildings — one for check-ins (lobby is amazing!) and the other has the themed rooms that are the legacy rooms. We stayed there several times and Tony’s Dancefloor & Maryanne’s is fantastical. Two miles down the country road, the Falls and Mantion and “Cottages.” The mansion has the bagged continental breakfast (you get a text the night before & choose items for the next day.) Fare is boiled eggs and pastries from a local bakery and fruit and cereal. The mansion has maybe 6 rooms and definitely worth visiting to see the lobby and the wonderment of the second floor, complete with cupola. The Crooked Cabana is truly a sight to behold, design-wise and functionality. A glorious heated pool with poolside service of crafted cocktails, delivered right to where you are (even if in the water.) There is a QR code reader inside to leave tips. We tipped cash. The pool is immaculate considering the woodlands. It is highly maintained as are the chairs, not a thing out of place. There are plenty of towels and a spa inside. There’s also a hot tub to warm up after a dip. The service was outstanding by the young lady that helped us choose a drink. Speaking of service, Robin, a veteran of the properties, is so kind and wonderful. I always enjoy speaking with her. As for getting out, there’s a railrider adventure a few miles away and there’s a long bike path about 20 miles to the north. Good place to park is by the old railroad station aptly named Railroad Ave in Stamford, NY. The trail is beautiful and goes for miles with nothing but spectacular scenery. I am going on a bit here. In the decades since, the resort (and it is that) has turned into pure bliss and magic and luxury. Last thing: the Stratton Falls (on the Mansion side), meticulously maintained, a bucolic wonder. It’s not a hike per se, but there are steps and the highlight is the waterfall! There are places to sit and just take in beauty and watch and hear the waterfall. This is our second time back since the original founders/owners sold and I think they would be happy and proud that their properties are so well kept-up. “We absolutely loved our stay at Terrazza of the Titans. The space was bright, spacious, and beautifully designed, with thoughtful details and gorgeous décor throughout. Every inch felt welcoming and comfortable for our family of four. The waterfall at the Stratton Falls campus was absolutely stunning and incredibly relaxing. Falling asleep to the sound of the water from our deck made the experience feel truly special. Even with the cold weather, there were still plenty of activities to keep our family entertained. Between the waterfalls, game room, Netflix, life-sized chess, foosball, air hockey, the Crooked Cabana bar, hot tub, and dry sauna — this place truly has it all. A special thank you to Chuck for making our Mother’s Day weekend even more memorable than we could have imagined. From the cookies and coffee to the kids’ welcome packets, every detail reflected warmth and care. We could not imagine a more family-friendly and welcoming experience. This was our third stay here, and it somehow keeps getting better every time. “We were so excited to visit, having heard about the place from people we knew. It was hard to choose a room from the many creative options; we stayed in the Golightly room, which was wonderfully themed in every aspect with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s vibe. The hospitality was top notch from before we arrived and throughout our stay. We enjoyed the local dining, including breakfast at Watershed, lunch at Chappie’s and dinner at The Old Mill - all strong recommends. A short trip to the town of Hobart turned into an afternoon browsing the eight independent bookstores in the center of town, and we enjoyed the Two Stones Farm Store and Creamery and the world’s largest kaleidoscope in Mt Tremper on our way home. We can’t wait to book another stay here and experience another of the whimsical rooms when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the great hiking around here. Five stars.
