“I’ve been to several local hotels near SUNY Albany. This one is ideally located directly across from the campus. The room and bathroom were clean and beds very comfortable. No dirty surfaces anywhere. We had to bring our dog with us. They charge $75 per night, which is high, but no hassles. The nightly rate was reasonable overall. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations. Not sure exactly what they’re doing, but there were numerous dumpsters outside and the parking lot might be getting resurfaced, so it was a bit rough. Not easy getting a good parking space at night. But, we eventually found one. Had some of the free coffee which was ok. Didn’t bother with the breakfast so can’t give any reviews for that. “This is an “above and beyond” property. Better service than any 5-star hotel. I stayed at the HGI Albany/SUNY Area for a work trip. When I arrived, it turned out my company’s travel agent failed to actually make a reservation! The front desk team was incredible—they truly turned over rocks and searched through every file to make sure they hadn’t overlooked anything. And most impressively, they even called the travel agent to try and see what happened. I’d like to see a Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton take that kind of care. “We have stayed at another local Hilton for the last ten years but they had no openings for the weekend we needed at the last minute so we booked this Hilton.The staff was very pleasant and helpful.
