“The hotel strikes you immediately as much more run down and shabby than the pictures. This is followed immediately by a warm greeting from the front desk. Alisha made us feel completely welcome. She explained the deal about where to go, breakfast, where to park, etc. This duality was a constant…slightly down scale hotel, but very upscale workers. All in all, I thought the place was great. My wife never really got over the down side. We were there in mid-April 2026. The Falls were great, especially because the town was nearly a ghost town. Just us and the Border Patrol driving around looking like menace. MId morning we were able to purchase two chocolate croissants from La Patisserie. That never used to happen. We got front row views of Horseshoe and the other rapids and Falls. We had a delightful visit with the first winery on the Wine Trail. We got to sample the whole house and the two wine experts were happy to engage with us for as long as we wanted. We bought a half case to take home. “This is most definitely the best place to stay in Niagara. It is absolutely gorgeous. I especially want to mention Quatina (? I hope I spelled it right) and Alisha. Kevin the bartender is a hoot too. I had the cheapest room, and I felt it was very nice for the price. The bar is on the 1st floor, the workout room is in the basement, and kind of icky. But because everything else is absolutely wonderful, I did not knock off a star. The sky view “lounge” is more like a party room, but it does have great views, and yes you have to take stairs, but the stairs are cool too. They have a different back view of the Mayan Revival sculptures at the top of the hotel. And the windows in the room open. Maybe because it is an older building. You can easily walk to Maid of the Mist, and catch the trolley from there to get around the park easily. The hotel has beautiful decor, wrought iron and marble. Breakfast was good, with many choices. “My husband and I stayed at the Giacomo, booked thru VRBO, room 1310 and it couldn’t have been better! I think we had the best view in the entire town of Niagara! The communication from booking, to check-in, and then check-out was superb. The art deco style hotel was super charming and the condo itself felt like it took us back in time. From the second we walked in to it, to see the giant size of this condo, then the magnificent panoramic views of Niagara, then right down the to the beautiful jazz music playing was a perfect start of a fabulous weekend. We immediately said we are not changing the channel of that station; we stayed in the vibe the whole time we were there. Being right across the street from the Niagara State Park, walking distance to the falls, was perfect. I could walk that park every day. Seeing the fireworks from our room was a huge plus!
