What Guests Are Saying

“My wife and I had a delightful one night stay at the Peninsula New York. I recommend it without hesitation. Our room was a Grand Premier Room on the 18th floor. Nicely sized for a single room, with a small 2 chair table for dining (or work) and a loveseat. The king sized bed was extremely comfortable, and both sides of the bed had amply sized nightstands. Storage included a closet with loads of high end hangers, and a luggage area with four nicely sized drawers. The bathroom was large (sadly, only one sink), with a separate tub and shower. The whole room was very well lit (The Carlyle – take note). The HVAC worked perfectly and quietly. All the technology worked exactly as designed. I understand the hotel just completed a renovation – it seems it was a great one. Well done. On arrival, I noted to the bellman that I was slightly surprised that the room didn’t have a coffee maker. No worries, he said, I’ll get you one. And one indeed arrived (oddly, I’m told only the suites have a coffee maker as standard equipment). We made good use of it. Every single staff member we met – doorman, valets, housekeeping, room service – was welcoming, and solicitous. Everyone was an exemplar of a very high standard of hospitality. The Peninsula offers an extremely valuable “Pen Time” benefit for direct bookings. You tell them when you’re going to check in, and when you want to check out. We arrived at 4:30pm on day 1, and left at 7:00pm on the day 2. Extremely useful when you have a 11:55pm flight. A couple cautions, present mainly because of the hotel’s location right on 5th Avenue at 55th. First, this is a busy area. You are in the thick of things from a commerce standpoint – but you need to go a piece to find the kind of neighborhood places that one often enjoys in NYC. Second, if you are scheduled to arrive or leave on the day there’s a parade on 5th Avenue, then you’ve got quite a hike to the hotel from 55th and 6th Avenue. This was a great stay. I’ll be back.” — OrrvilleRedRider, 5 stars

“We spent the weekend at The Peninsula celebrating my wife’s birthday, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was incredibly comfortable and impressively quiet — a true oasis from the chaos of the streets below. The bed and bedding combination was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced. It was actually the first time I’ve stayed somewhere and didn’t miss my own bed and pillows. What truly sets this property apart, though, is the staff. Every single interaction was warm, professional, and prompt. Sofia at the front desk went above and beyond — when I mentioned my travel beard trimmer had no batteries, she immediately had housekeeping send some up to our room. Every doorman greeted us by name without hesitation, and housekeeping worked with remarkable efficiency. We never once returned to a room that wasn’t refreshed or beautifully turned down. Two minor notes: there is no coffee maker in the room, so morning coffee requires ordering room service (there may be another option, but it wasn’t obvious). Also, there isn’t an ironing board in the room. That said, the team was extremely accommodating and had our clothes pressed and returned promptly — just something to note if you like handling quick touch-ups yourself before heading out. Overall, it was an outstanding, relaxing weekend, and we absolutely plan to return. We only wish we could have stayed longer” — Jason S., 5 stars

“Returned after a while. Renovated completely - at least rooms and the rooftop bar. Rooms are getting a nice uplift, both electronically and comfort, bathrooms as well, spacious and cosy. The pool at 22 and the spa were also vey nice and clean and very well appointed. Maybe they can start the sauna earlier than they did. The rooftop bar is awesome, both indoor and terrace. Amazing views, excellent lists and nice cold bar food. Breakfast is comprehensive and a bit pricey. I wouldn’t think coffee refills would be considered a new one…” — Aburel, 5 stars

"We stayed at The Peninsula New York after having such a wonderful experience at the Peninsula in Los Angeles for afternoon tea and the spa, and this stay absolutely lived up to our expectations. We’ve previously stayed at the St. Regis across the street and the Ritz-Carlton as well, but the Peninsula truly stands out. The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of Manhattan, surrounded by all the iconic luxury brands and just steps from Rockefeller Center. Everything feels effortlessly convenient yet calm and refined. From the moment we arrived, the service and hospitality were exceptional. Every staff member was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel itself was immaculate, quiet, and beautifully maintained. We especially loved the thoughtful details, like the built-in spa music in the bathroom — such a relaxing touch. The coffee and cookies were also delicious and much appreciated. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to check out the pool or gym this trip, but that just gives us another reason to come back. When I asked my wife where she’d like to stay next time, her answer was immediate: The Peninsula. A special thank you to Marco at the bar for his friendliness and to Deepthi and the front desk team for their excellent service. Manhattan never disappoints, and The Peninsula truly made this stay unforgettable. Highly recommend!"

"After our first visit last year, we came back to the Peninsula NYC. The level of care provided by the team is on another level. Their hospitality, their kindness, all the thoughtful touches make it that we love it here so much. Every interaction with anyone from the staff is genuinely friendly and you can tell they all feel like a big family. They make you feel like you're home but with a flawless way of making it luxurious too. They anticipate your needs and deliver service with genuine sympathy. Special shoutout to Allan and Samir, who are exceptional. Thank you so much for everything!!"

"That review sounds fantastic! Here is the revised review, written from a different perspective and incorporating mentions of the pool and rooftop bar. A Sanctuary of Five-Star Luxury in the Heart of Manhattan I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Peninsula New York, and I can confidently say this is one of the world's truly elite hotels. The level of care provided by the team was simply flawless. Every interaction with the staff was positive, whether it was a quick request to the concierge or a friendly greeting in the lobby. Their ability to anticipate our needs and deliver service with such genuine warmth made us feel like honored guests throughout our entire stay. The guest rooms are magnificent. We were instantly impressed by how spacious the rooms are, a genuine luxury in Manhattan. Beyond the size, the detail is remarkable; the latest technology is built seamlessly into the rooms, controlling everything from lighting to privacy with a single touch. This high-tech efficiency, paired with the unbelievably soft and high-quality bed and linens, ensured we had deep, restorative sleep every night. The amenities here elevate the experience far beyond a typical luxury stay. The rooftop bar, Salon de Ning, offers incredible views and is the perfect spot for an evening cocktail. Equally impressive is the pool and spa area, which provides a tranquil, beautiful escape from the city hustle. The hotel's Fifth Avenue location is unbeatable, putting you steps away from the best shopping, dining, and cultural sites. We travel a lot, and this is, without a doubt, an amazing hotel that has set a new benchmark for us in terms of luxury and service."
