What Guests Are Saying

“My wife and I stayed at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort while celebrating our 30th anniversary, and it was exactly the kind of Adirondack escape we were hoping for. The location is hard to beat. Being right on Mirror Lake gives you those classic Lake Placid views, with the water, the mountains, and the peaceful feel of the Adirondacks all around you. They provide kayaks, canoes, water bicycles for free. Lots of places to sunbath. It was the kind of place where you could slow down, enjoy a coffee, sit by the water, and really take it all in. The staff were warm and welcoming, and we really appreciated the way they treated us during such a special trip. It made our anniversary feel even more memorable. Thank you for the gifts. The resort is also in a great spot for walking around Lake Placid ( you are literally on the main street). Shops, restaurants, coffee stops, and the lake itself are all close by, so it was easy to enjoy the town without feeling like we had to drive everywhere. Origin coffee is 5 mins walk. Or you can drive to caprice coffee which is around 5 mins drive. Be sure to check out the Olympic Museum, John Browns Farm, and go up the Olympic Ski Jumping Complex to see views. We may do Whiteface next year. I even brought along a crime thriller inspired by Lake Placid and the High Peaks, and reading it by Mirror Lake made the setting feel even more perfect. We left grateful, relaxed, and already missing the Adirondacks. If you’re considering Golden Arrow for a Lake Placid stay, especially for a special occasion, I’d happily recommend it. We will be back next year!” — brockercanada, 5 stars

“My husband I and I stayed at the Golden Arrow for 2 nights in a deluxe lakeview room. Highly recommend to all, and we will definitely be back with our kids! The hotel is right on Mirror Lake (which our room balcony overlooked) AND on Main St, so you can walk to all the restaurants, shops, and bars and then return to the serenity of your room. Our room and all the facilities were immaculate and the service impeccable. We used the indoor pool area including the sauna and steam room. The gym looked great as well. Our first choice hotel was closed (see below) and we’re so glad it was because that’s how we ended up at the Golden Arrow! By the way it’s family owned which we loved! It was “mud season” when we visited and some local places were closed for spring break but there was still so much to do in the area. Some ideas if you’re in town during the off season like we were: purchase an Adirondack Brewery Pass which gives you BOGO pints at 10 local breweries in Lake Placid and nearby Saranac Lake, catch a movie at the historic theater, stroll around town, take a scenic walk on the Rail Trail (pick a spot that has views - it’s 34 miles and ideal for bikes but walkers can find scenic segments too), visit Saranac Lake and other nearby villages and do some shopping. A peaceful weekend away in the beautiful outdoors - we can’t wait to return!” — travelingwithtoddlers, 5 stars

“We had a wonderful stay at the Golden Arrow! We were here for a hockey tournament and they made it really fun for the kids - an outdoor rink with fire pit and specific area for knee hockey. Walkable to the rink and all restaurants and shops. Specifically Vinny made our stay fantastic! He went above and beyond to help us and even helped us celebrate our anniversary while we were here. We will be back and can’t wait to see Vinny!” — KatherineLD, 5 stars

"I stayed here for a short winter vacation and it was absolutely lovely. The frozen lake offered a magical experience that felt straight out of a Hallmark movie. The pool was spacious and clean, the room was nice and cozy and featured a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The service was excellent. I completely recommend and hope to come back again in the summer!"

"The Golden Arrow Resort is the perfect location if you're coming for the CANAM Lake Placid Hockey Tournament. Very scenic views of Lake Placid with a wilderness lodge vibe give it a home away from home feeling. The location compared to the arena was fantastic as well. One employee named Kim single handedly prevented our entire team from having a completely 5 start experience. Things like kicking us out of the lobby at 10pm because it was closed, and removing the complimentary coffee machine because if we used it, she would have to clean it again. Kim was constantly nagging us for every sort of item she could come up with while other teams ran ramped. Everything else was great."

"My wife and I and another couple just spent three days (9/29 - 10/1) at the Golden Arrow. This was our first time at Lake Placid. We cannot say enough good things about our stay. The night hosts (Kim and Hannah) were very accommodating. They were so helpful in checking us in and providing us with recommendations for dining and sightseeing. We also have to thank Nicole, a server in the Generations Restaurant at the Golden Arrow for such great breakfast service. The rooms were very nice, and immaculate, with great views of Mirror Lake. The hotel is in immediate proximity to shopping, restaurants and the Olympic Museum. We want to thank the staff for such great service. You made our stay memorable and we can’t wait to return."
