“I so enjoyed our peaceful break from the chaotic and hectic pace of life at the Inn at Lake Joseph this weekend. My husband and I came to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary and actually only live less than 1 hour away in Sussex County, NJ. I made the reservations based on the internet, and learned that it had very recently changed ownership after many years. I called to inquire and ensure all was in order and from the beginning, the new Property Manager, managed our expectations by explaining they had just assumed ownership one week prior and were in the process of navigating many challenges. Most importantly, he did so in a completely honest and forthcoming way pointing out things might be slightly different than “as advertised” on the web. This is so rare today - I was not only drawn to him, but upon arrival we found the new owners, Marie and Ram to be incredibly warm and welcoming people. They upgraded our stay given many of the rooms are currently being renovated and we found ourselves in a lovely little cabin/suite with a stone fireplace, cathedral ceiling, full kitchen and jacuzzi - Our five grandchildren ages 6 to 17 live with us so the solitude and rejuvenating respite has been so refreshing. I can’t wait to see what the future holds as they new owners make this their own. I HIGHLY recommend and will be back, even solo, in the near future for some quiet, reflective time - the property holds so much opportunity, hiking trails, a beautiful lake and even a lovely in the ground pool. “Thoroughly enjoyed a midweek stay at the Inn, and can’t wait to return. My room in the main house was enormous, with a king-size bed and lush sheets, fireplace, jacuzzi, terrace, and ensuite bath. The inn’s new owners Rom and Maria could not be more welcoming, and have quickly added their personal touch to the historic main building. They have so many great plans to enhance an already stunning property; their enthusiasm is infectious. You can do as much or as little as you choose here. Rocking in one of the hammocks may be all you need to relax and refresh, but if you want more, the Inn has a private access road leading to the pristine lake, and there are rowboats and kayaks at the ready. “We were looking for a dog-friendly resort near NYC and stumbled on this inn. It was exactly what we were looking for. It’s a quiet, expansive property. Beautiful lake, nice pool, row boats, kayaks and a secluded hiking trail. Our room was spacious, comfortable and quiet. Our dog had a wonderful time running off-leash and chasing chipmunks. The staff couldn’t have been more hospitable and helpful, suggesting local activities and restaurants that were dog-friendly. "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Lake Joseph. While the rooms are a bit dated at the moment(new owners will be renovating) they were very clean and welcoming. The inn as a whole is very charming and the property is beautiful and serene. The staff was always friendly and accommodating and the owners Rom and Maria are extremely gracious and friendly. Maria’s breakfast always delicious and a great start for a day of hiking or rowing in the lake. We would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and lovely getaway. The only drawback is that we love travelling with our dogs and the new pet policy no longer allows dogs. Otherwise we would definitely be back again!"

The rooms were comfortable, cozy, and spotless, making our stay relaxing and stress-free. One of the highlights was definitely the breakfast – fresh, delicious, and with plenty of options to choose from. It really set the tone for our days. The atmosphere of the whole place is so warm and inviting that it almost felt like staying at a friend’s home rather than a hotel. View on Google"We were looking forward to stay there, a romantic place. Somehow, as soon as we checked in we had to leave without staying there, because of health reasons. The reception person was extremely compassionate, respectful and understanding. He called the owners who happened to be there. Not only they consoled me, they offered a full refund, and made us very comfortable. They brought cake and coffee for us to make us feel better. They spent time with us. We will go there again, this time with family. There are fireplaces, there are trails, the building is old farmhouse converted into a hotel. If you want to go away to a place full of hospitality, old world charm, seclusion, calm, serenity, and spend time in nature, alone or with family and friends, try this place. We highly recommend it."
