What Guests Are Saying

“We arrived a little early and a nice sales manager was decorating the Christmas tree and was able to approve us to go to our room. She was very kind to allow us to get to our room and freshen up before catching the shuttle to the airport and Q70 bus to the subway on Roosevelt Avenue and our Rockets show at Radio City. We did this trip for all three days and got very familiar fast on traveling to and from Manhattan. We stayed here instead of Manhattan because of price. First we had concerns on traveling to Manhattan but found it very easy going to the airport and taking the free Q70 bus directly to the Subway Station 10 min to Roosevelt using any train 40-45 min to any part of Manhattan and back. The only problem was we found leaving the subway to airport there are two Q70 bus routes. Be sure to use the LaGuardia link to airport or ask driver. We went once to Q70 to Queens but a lady getting off showed us it was an easy walk to catch the Lagurdia link back to Roosevelt and on to the airport. The hotel shuttle arrives at the airport frequently to take you to Hampton or Doubletree. We would schedule at least an hour of travel time both to and from Manhattan. If you’re confused about the subway we found many helpful people to help don’t be afraid to ask someone. I found the MTA app most helpful. I used google and city mapper but MTA helped the best to get the bus, train and walk to our destination. The hotel rooms appeared recently renovated and pleasantly surprised of great condition and size was large room and bathroom. The only issue was some local TV channels quite working but they tried several times but could not resolve. The breakfast is around 25 dollars but since TV would not work properly in the evening they gave us a breakfast. I personally would not recommend spending that much but it’s a personal choice.” — Martin B., 5 stars

“We had a wonderful experience at the DoubleTree in East Elmhurst. We called the hotel when we picked up our bags and minutes later the free shuttle arrived to pick us up. The driver got our bags for us and loaded them into the shuttle. He was very nice and efficient as well. Soon after we arrived at the hotel. We met Pierre at check in and he was dressed to the nines! I loved his orange/brown jacket, it was very snazzy. He was pleasant and welcoming and apologized for not being able to check us in right away (it was around 10:30am and I definitely didn’t expect to check in immediately as we were there way before check in time). He gave myself and each of my guests a cookie which I was excited to share with my friends as they had never experienced the DoubleTree cookies before. We decided to explore the hotel and after a few minutes Pierre told us he had a room ready for us, before noon! I was very excited and pleased. We were able to take our bags to our room and get settled before going out to enjoy the city. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast in the restaurant on our check out date and the young lady and gentleman at the coffee bar and the host stand were very friendly and helpful. Someone also came from the kitchen to help us with the waffle maker when we were unsure of how to use it. Someone stored our bags for us when we checked out so we could explore the city once more before leaving and he was very pleasant and helpful as well. We also enjoyed the free shuttle service again on our way back to the airport a few days later. Overall, everyone we spoke with was friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again.” — Caitlin C., 5 stars

“The hotel is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located close to LGA. The fitness center was better than most hotels I’ve stayed at… spacious with multiple cardio machines, which I really appreciated. What really made my stay stand out was the staff. Pierre was incredibly helpful, pleasant, and approachable. He gave me great restaurant recommendations, helped me arrange transportation, and always greeted me with a smile when I came through the lobby. He even gave me a laugh or two along the way. I didn’t catch all the names, but a few others at the front desk was also very kind and went out of their way to help me print documents multiple times. Overall, the hotel itself is decent, but the staff is truly excellent. Their friendliness and effort made my stay feel welcoming and stress-free. Highly recommend!” — Zuri N., 5 stars

"I experienced top notch customer service before I ever stayed! Dawn was nothing short of amazing. This was my first trip to NY I called the front desk for information before I arrived. Dawn gave me detailed instructions on how to get back and forth to the city. She was very pleasant and patient. I would highly recommend staying at this location because of her expertise and immaculate customer service. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the pleasure to meet her in person. I want to take the time to tell her “thank you”."

"The room was clean, and the front desk staff were all very friendly. The unmanned snack bar was also convenient. It's a great hotel to stay at due to its proximity to the airport."

"Great hotel. I spent a night to recover from a travel problem caused by Alamo car rental company. Many flight crew seem to stay at this Double Tree and for good reason. I have stayed at hundreds of Hilton hotels, and this DoubleTree was one of the best I have stayed at. I only wish I had brought more $5 bills for tips for the staff, they are pretty much cashless and no one could make change for a $20."
