“The Harbor Hotel Patio view is spectacular. Patio has two fire pits and they are always lit. Can eat outside on the Patio or in the Bar/Restaurant. Patio is very clean! Request a River View. We love the St. Lawrence River & all the different vessels going by. We saw the American Patriot dock from our room. Our room was very clean! Our room had a fridge & coffee/tea provided near the elevator every morning. Had Happy Hour at the Bar & a Chicken Quesadilla with Blue Cheese Crumbles…oh, my, was delicious! Was enough to split for two of us with our cocktails. Another night, on the patio, Dinner, we shared the Mandarin Strawberry Salad & the Tomato Mozzarella Salad with Balsamic Glaze..Wow! Bartenders/Staff were extremely helpful & friendly! Walkability of this Village is beautiful & clean! We walked right along the river to the village every day & explored all the restaurants for Happy Hour! Tons of benches & Adirondack chairs to soak in the view! There’s a huge pavilion to get out of the sun. (Tons of benches..l’m not exaggerating!) There’s an Artisans & Bagel Bake Shop, 2 min walk, omg, delicious & homemade! (And you can shop there!!) We also enjoyed golfing while we were here! The Village of Clayton is a hidden gem! We had a wonderful stay! We will be back! (We have stayed at their sister hotel, Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen. It’s very nice too & has delicious breakfasts & dinners. Can hike Watkins Glen State Park & there’s an outdoors store to shop.)” — Pauline182324, 5 stars
“This is the place to stay while in the 1000 Islands region. We had stayed at the Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen several years ago, and decided to make the Harbor Hotel in Clayton, NY our home for five nights while we were in the area. It was fantastic! The reception we received when checking in was great. Our room was very clean and met and exceeded our expectations. Be sure to book a room on the river side of the hotel with a balcony. We spent late afternoons and early mornings sitting on the balcony watching the cargo ships go by. So relaxing! Food was great at the hotel restaurant. They serve morning coffee on each floor at an area near the elevators. There is Starbucks regular coffee, decaf and hot water for a selection of teas. The outside back area of the hotel is filled with beautiful flowers and a manicured setting with 2 fire pits and numerous adirondack chairs. Great place to sit and relax and meet new friends after a day of sightseeing. Right outside the hotel grounds is the Clayton Riverwalk. This walk connects to downtown Clayton and is an easy walk to many of the shops and restaurants in town. So many sites to see within the area. Alexandria Bay is only about 12 minutes away from the hotel. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Clayton!” — 107nan2010, 5 stars
“This is a hotel that earned four diamond awards every year for their hospitality, amenities and grounds. I visited on Labor Day weekend and I absolutely loved it. The riverview rooms offer scenic views of the beautifully manicured lawn meeting the St. Lawrence River. The hotel has only four floors so it offers a more personable and exclusive experience. I really wish I had more time there. I didn’t get to swim in their heated pool or soak in the hot tub. A lot of weddings are booked there because of the grounds and service. The hotel rooms are more spacious than I was expecting. Even the chain hotel brands’ suites aren’t as roomy. The bed mattress is very comfortable. That is a huge plus for me. The village of Clayton’s shops and restaurants are easily accessible within a one-minute walk. I plan to return next year.” — blazingburgundy1, 5 stars

"Excellent 5 diamond hotel! Amenities Staff and service was great! Restaurant awesome food. Lot of food for the money. Had one or two little issues with the room which were quickly taken care of by Joanne the manager. Beautiful pool and hot tub. You will not be ever disappointed. We go there at least 1-2 times a year. The best place with a view in the north country. Clayton makes it even better."
