“I reserved all 4 rooms for my family and I at the Akwaaba Inn in Brooklyn in mid September for my daughter’s wedding and we had the best time! The inn is absolutely beautiful and they could not have been more accommodating. I dealt with Randi who was nice, professional and flexible. We had a welcome party for about 40 guests Friday night in the courtyard and it was lovely. Lamar helped us all evening and attended to all our needs. He was so friendly and eager to help in any way. We had delicious breakfast served in the mornings by some really nice gals (I don’t remember their names) . The rooms were so nice and the beds were very comfortable. We had a celebration for my daughter at a rooftop of their favorite wine bar also in Brooklyn. We really had a wonderful time at the Akwaaba and all the guests raved about how beautiful it was. “We rented all four rooms in this spacious yet cozy inn and it felt like we were visiting old friends. It’s warm and welcoming with a homey ethnic flair. Each bedroom has its own distinct charm and theme (we liked Black Memorabilia and Ashante best) and the bathrooms are stocked with Akwaaba-branded toiletries I loved. All of the beds are super comfortable and the linens are soft and fluffy. The breakfasts were lovingly prepared by innkeeper Randy. The pancakes rocked, the frittata was outstanding… and even the tea selection was unique and special. But wait… there’s more. The location was perfect for a group of girlfriends wanting to explore the local culture of Brooklyn neighborhoods. We dined at Peaches, sipped at Brooklyn Tea, shopped at RoCoCo and danced to drummers at a block party/street fair. “The historic location of this beautiful mansion is absolutely amazing. My husband and I needed a place to stay overnight after watching a friend play at a local bar, and I was hoping to find something within walking distance. Akwaaba did not disappoint—it was just five minutes from LunÀtico (which also did not disappoint!). The history, charm, original design, friendliness, and overall beauty of this B&B make it a place my husband and I will ALWAYS stay when we’re in Brooklyn.
