Both were beautifully presented with lovely linen, great’ service. A 4-star reunion guest wrote the room was ‘spacious and had a beautiful view. Clean and well supplied. Reunion food was great. Breakfast food was good but the side items (bagels, fruit etc.) were not replenished frequently enough.’ Recent 1-star candid flags include ‘terrible experience… the management is cheap’ and ‘too old with no help’ from a wedding-weekend guest. Not a marketed in-room-jacuzzi property. Best for Orange Park wedding guests, St. Johns River waterfront weekends, Jacksonville-suburb history-and-character seekers and TPC Sawgrass golfers wanting a lower-rate alternative to Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.
What Guests Are Saying
“We arrived here for an overnight stay and were checked in and welcomed by the hotel receptionist. We stayed in the English room & our friends in the Italian room. Both were beautifully presented with lovely linen, great showers and comfortable beds. The main house of the hotel is just lovely it’s a bit quirky, which adds to its southern charm. There was a wedding taking place when we were there and I was a bit concerned about potential noise but as there is a strict curfew it wasn’t an issue as all finished and quiet by 10.15pm. The pool area was great & had separate adult & children’s pools. We didn’t eat in the restaurant as didn’t have trousers other than jeans (the dress code is country casual, but no jeans). The included breakfast was excellent with an omelette station as well as the standard continental offerings. The staff we met were all great. Everywhere was perfectly clean. The English room didn’t have a fridge or a coffee maker, but not a deal breaker! We met the owner the night we were there and were very interested in hearing about the history of the house and about her family (the Palmolive dynasty). We would definately stay here again as really appeals to my sense of uniqueness.” — Mandy C., 5 stars
“I had a very relaxing and comfortable four nights at Club Continental. The suite was very spacious. The floor-to-ceiling glass provided lots of natural light and beautiful views of the St John’s River. I loved watching the sunset and sunrise from the balcony. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and the sheets were the softest I have ever felt. I think I want those sheets for my home! The shower has decent water pressure. The tub is huge! I didn’t use the jets but still had a relaxing soak. The grounds are beautiful “Old Florida” style. It doesn’t feel like a tourist destination at all. A few things to know before you go - 1. There is no elevator in this 3-story building. There is a ramp to the second floor. If you book on the third floor, be prepared to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs. 2. Immediately adjacent to the River Suites is a pub. One night there was a band playing. With the patio door shut, I couldn’t really hear the music much. 3. The place could use a little TLC. For example, there were nail holes from where something previously hung on the wall, and the wood deck needed repainting. The suite was very clean though.” — Jennifer L., 5 stars
“Although our stay at the Club Continental was for a friend’s family emergency and not vacation, we both thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The entire staff went above and beyond in assisting us through an incredibly difficult time, extending our stay indefinitely until we moved locations as we transitioned her mom from the ICU to a long-term care facility. Terri and Bonnie were particularly kind, compassionate, and helpful, and we cannot say enough great things about them and their dedication to customer service. The hotel grounds were a welcome reprieve from the chaos of the hospital, providing us with a serene, peaceful place to come home to at the end of each day. Waking up and watching the waves of the river, dog-walks underneath a canopy of cyprus trees and spanish moss, and even a handful of visits to their incredible pools was exactly what we needed to recharge. Staying at the Club Continental is like taking a step back in time to when excellent service and incredible attention to detail was the norm. If only other hotels cared for the guest experience as much as they do. Thank you for everything <3” — Chelsea I., 5 stars

What guests are saying about The Club Continental Suites.
"Seriously one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been to. We celebrated my grandmas 100th! Birthday and rented out one of their private dinning areas along with the catering. The food was amazing, the decor was beautiful, and the staff was extremely kind. There even was a private bar for the afternoon. It was an amazing experience and would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a venue for any occasion."

View on Google"What an amazing experience at The Club Continental! From start to finish, the team went above and beyond for us and our wedding couple clients. Every detail was perfect — the food was delicious, the rooms were like the service was exceptional, and the venue looked absolutely magical, like something straight out of a fairytale. The rooms were like stepping back in time — beautifully detailed, clean, and incredibly comfortable. Every corner felt thoughtfully designed, making it easy for everyone to feel relaxed and at home. Our wedding couple clients were so happy and relaxed throughout the day, and it shows beautifully in the images we captured. The joy and love in the air made our job as photographers an absolute delight. A heartfelt thank you to Terry, Rocco, and the entire team for your kindness, professionalism, and thoughtful care. You made everything so easy and enjoyable! We cannot wait to be back and photograph another unforgettable celebration at The Club Continental. We will happily recommend this stunning venue to all of our couples! Warmly, Thomas & Andrea Naples Dreams in Pixels PHOTOGRAPHY"

The riverside views are breathtaking, and the gardens and indoor spaces offer so many opportunities for photos and video. Every event we’ve worked there has flowed smoothly and been so much fun. We highly recommend it to couples looking for a romantic and picturesque venue."
