Completely under staffed. Staff were very pleasant and supportive but overwhelmed’; a 3-star guest wrote ‘this hotel is totally unimpressive. It’s a Marriott trying (and failing) to provide an elevated Ritz-Carlton experience.’ One 1-star guest reported a housekeeping-theft incident — a single account among 877 reviews. What Guests Are Saying
“I’ve stayed in Surfside/Bal Harbour, many times, often at the St. Regis but this was our first time at Ritz Carlton and we were absolutely blown away. The size, decor of their views of their suites are really stunning. The pool area is beautiful and their staff and service was top notch. The hotel was totally full because so many had their flights cancelled with the big winter storm yet nothing felt crowded. I really loved how they have separate elevators so that when you exit the elevators there are only two rooms per floor and it feels very private. I think honestly Marriott Elites are often hesitant to stay at Ritz properties when they is a comparable St. Regis, W, etc close by that offers more benefits (free breakfast, able to use your Suite Night awards, guaranteed 4pm checkout) but aside from the free breakfast (which personally isn’t super valuable to me when I want to sleep in) I felt I got comparable Platinum treatment. They actually gave me an upgrade to a stunning, high floor suite and although it wasn’t 4pm, they did give me a 2pm checkout which I was happy with considering they were totally full. We really enjoyed the afternoon complimentary affogatos, daily afternoon cocktails, and the include Pilates class I took in the spa was awesome. Also, although it is a bit farther to walk to all the restaurants and cafes on Harding street it was very doable and pleasant. All in all, I’d be happy to return her and they definitely compete with and in some ways surpass the experience at the nearby St. Regis. Don’t hesitate to book at this beautiful property!” — DenverMommy, 5 stars
“Fantastic stay from start to finish! Beautiful property and great location. We traveled for the Miami Open but also for a romantic weekend and we were not disappointed. The suite had amazing views, the room service was excellent and all the staff was helpful with what ever we needed. We did not even have time to take advantage of the spa or some of the restaurants but we really enjoyed riding the bikes along the ocean path. It was also a short drive to the Bal Harbour shops which were amazing. We would definitely stay here again! This oceanfront property is perfect for couples or families.” — Jacqueline M., 5 stars

"This hotel was great for a few days of our trip!! I will say rooms need some renovations which they did share was happening soon, but did remodel bathrooms! Great view and great location. Alex helped us up to our room after check in, he was great!!! Margo at the pool was incredibly friendly and attentive. She chatted with us about where we were from etc. She was the sweetest! Valet staff and check in staff, including manager Tiego was great!! Area is walkable to bal harbor shops which has some higher end shopping along with restaurants etc."

View on Google"This was my first time staying at The Ritz Bal Harbour and I must admit it was a wonderful experience—comfortable, luxurious, and beautifully done. We were upgraded to an ocean-view one-bedroom suite, which was truly stunning, with gorgeous views and calming neutral décor. One of my favorite aspects of the hotel is its location: tucked away in Bal Harbour, away from the hustle and bustle yet close to everything. I also loved the partnership with Exhale Spa—the classes and spa services were incredible and made our stay even more relaxing. The hotel features a beautiful pool and offers a great breakfast on the terrace. During our stay, they also hosted an Art Basel exhibition with a reception, which definitely elevated the experience. Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel, and I would definitely return for another relaxing and comfortable stay."

View on Google"I had an overall amazing experience at The Ritz Carlton in Bal Harbour. The property itself is stunning, with a beautiful, clean beach and a calm, luxurious atmosphere that makes it perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Every detail of the hotel reflects quality and care. The service truly stood out. The staff was consistently friendly, professional, and attentive, making sure every need was met without ever feeling intrusive. I want to specifically highlight Alex Suarez, whose level of service was exceptional. His attentiveness, professionalism, and strong work ethic especially for his age, were genuinely impressive. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect and made the experience feel personal and memorable. From the beach to the service, everything exceeded expectations. This stay was nothing short of excellent, and I would absolutely return and recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top tier luxury experience."
