“I just had a lovely first visit to the Ritz Carlton Washington DC. This property is everything I love about the Ritz Carlton brand — understated elegance with top notch service. I used Marriott Suite Night Upgrades and was awarded a very nice roomy executive king suite. The room was quintessential Ritz Carlton (however updated and modern in all the right ways). Very nice layout with a half bath and large living room with a well-designed banquette dining room, large sofa and seating area with TV in the living room. A full mini bar with complimentary Nespresso coffee were available. I loved that they provided plenty of complimentary bottled water. The bedroom was separated by a set of French doors with a comfy king bed, TV, and large closet before entering into a huge bathroom with stand-up shower, full large tub, double vanity and water closet. All the things I love about RC with tons of thoughtful bath amenities and a really nice touch with even more bottled water at each sink with a full sized drinking glass. It really is the understated touches that make a difference. I also want to call out their exceptional housekeeping, who always arrived as soon as I requested after messaging the ladies and gentlemen at the front desk. Housekeeping used Chilewich placemats to organize my toiletries on the bath vanity. Did I mention the little touches :-). One other note — I always stay in this neighborhood when I come to DC. Access to everything you need. Quick walk to DuPont Circle, and Georgetown is literally right down the street with all the high end shopping and brasseries you’d ever want. “Stayed for a group, corporate event where we probably booked half the hotel. The ballroom downstairs and meeting areas were convenient and well-organized (easy access back to room if needed during breaks). The rooms themselves were spacious and well-appointed. I arrived early so only two-doubles were available but it was fine as the front desk got me a 10th floor (out of 11) room due to my Bonvoy status. Front desk was very helpful - Hazel assisted at check-in and was the person who handled my check-out. She was informative and processed check-out promptly. As one would expect, they provided daily cleaning service including nightly turndown (housekeeper whose name I didn’t get was cheerful each night bringing by chocolates and a happy attitude). There was Sage for fine-dining and Quadrant lounge for more casual dining (I had both - I did takeout for lunch at Sage and when I asked for the same for dinner, they kindly informed me that dinner was eat-in only). Fitness was in partnership with Equinox which is either $15/day or included in your room rate. It’s accessible via the 2nd floor and you have to bring your ID (& know your room number) to gain access. The club has a full basketball court, weights, and a 4-lane lap swimming pool and is also used by local members. It’s close to GWU, restaurants, and a host of other hotels in case you have an event where guests prefer different brands.” — Deal_H0und, 5 stars
“PRO: Service was top notch. For anniversary celebration and platinum elite status, they gave me quiet high floor room on courtyard side. Room service did give a nice anniversary dessert which was great and wonderful for pictures! For the amount I paid (discounted rate) it was great. I don’t think the non-discounted price would be worth it. Stay overall was very comfortable, walking distance to subway (9 or 14 minutes depending on the line). Was able to use complimentary umbrellas to use around town. Separate tub and walk in shower was nice touch, and wife enjoyed the hot water and water pressure. Wife especially enjoyed the complimentary chocolates. CON: Being a ritz, holding platinum elite status doesn’t get much (i.e. no breakfast), wish the shower could have been just a tad larger as fitting 2 people in shower was a tight squeeze, sad that the gym cost extra, so I did not use gym (on the plus side other hotels probably would have just charged all guests a resort fee). "The overall impression of the afternoon tea meets the standards of a five-star hotel. The taste is excellent, clearly the work of a high-level pastry chef. The tea is also exceptionally good. I tried two types, and both were great. However, the afternoon tea area is located on the first floor of the hotel, next to the bar, with no windows, which doesn’t feel very upscale. In addition, all the decorations in the space are artificial flowers, which also feels less refined. It meets the standards of a five-star hotel, but not the standard of The Ritz-Carlton."

View on Google"It's a pretty standard Ritz with nice little DC touches. It's a little nicer and has more modern styling than the two RCs in the suburbs but is probably a little below the RC Georgetown (which is only like a mile away). I like that the art is definitely playful with more abstract paintings and photos. The free tea in the lobby and presidential cookie service is a fun touch. West End can also be a nice location - there isn't a ton immediately close by but you're easily walkable to Georgetown or Dupont. I'll give a shout out that the hotel was really sweet for our anniversary with a little treat and a bottle of prosecco waiting after turn down service. I wish there was a little more to the lobby space and am annoyed by any hotel that doesn't include in-room coffee machines (dragging myself down to the lobby first thing in the morning is not my preferred ritual). Apparently you can request a Nespresso but I didn't even notice the lack of coffee until morning, assuming it was just tucked away behind one of the closets or cupboards. These are minor complaints for a very admirable experience"

View on Google"This hotel is my go-to when I come to DC. As a Titanium Marriott Member, I've stayed at 30+ plus hotels this year and the majority being in DC. The Ritz on 22nd Street is top notch. I've even had the pleasure of staying at the St Regis in DC, Ritz in Georgetown and Ritz Pentagon City. This hotel is another level. Escadare and Zach in reception are what makes a hotel go from great to superb. The fitness club is the statement club in DC. If you want to feel spoiled and pampered, stay at the Ritz on 22nd."
