Capital Hilton
"A 4.0-rated historic Hilton on 16th Street with 4.7 location, 5,099 reviews, and legacy Hot Tub Hotels frontmatter explicitly marketing in-room jacuzzi suites."
About The Hotel
A 4.0-rated (5,099 reviews) 4-star Capital Hilton at 1001 16th Street NW — a historic large-scale Hilton 3 blocks north of the White House. Subratings 3.8-4.7 with location 4.7 (strong), cleanliness 4.2, rooms 4.0, service 4.1, sleep quality 4.2 and value 3.8 (softest). Amenities include valet parking, free internet, fitness center, bar/lounge, kids TV, kids activities, pet-friendly and shuttle bus service. Legacy Hot Tub Hotels frontmatter is unusually specific: it explicitly markets “In-Room Jacuzzi - Private whirlpool tub located directly in your suite” as a top feature and describes “Each tub is spacious enough for two, with powerful jets that work magic on tired muscles after a long day of walking the National Mall or attending conferences” — this is a stronger in-room-whirlpool signal than most of the DC set, but TripAdvisor amenity listings do not corroborate the in-room whirlpool amenity. Verify by specifically requesting a Jacuzzi room type at booking. Recent 5-star reviews are dominated by named-service shoutouts to Frank, Theresa, Mary H and Barista/doorman/security team members (“Got status? Book this hotel!… Check in with Frank was seamless”; “At check out, Theresa, Guest Service Agent, double checked my bill to make sure it was correct”). No recent candid room-condition flags surfaced in the reviews sample. Best for Hilton Honors loyalists wanting a large-scale historic downtown Hilton with strong 4.7 location and specifically-requested legacy jacuzzi-suite room type.
What Guests Are Saying
“Must stay while in DC! From the initial response to my email sent to the generic hotel email address to our experience on departure day; everyone we experienced was extremely pleasant and genuinely caring. We stayed for 3 nights and were celebrating my husband’s birthday and our family’s 23rd MLB Stadium visit and the team went above and beyond to make it a special experience. At check in, Frank greeted us with so much joy and happiness and was a delight to get to know. He’s such a valuable asset and the real example of what hospitality is. Thank you Frank for making our family trip to D.C. one to remember. Great central location, welcoming staff and very clean property. Looking forward to staying here again!” — WildarisDfw, 5 stars
“8We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Theresa at the front desk was exceptional. She was incredibly welcoming and helpful, got us checked in early, and even offered us a room upgrade, which was greatly appreciated. The quality of the room was excellent—clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Throughout our stay, the entire staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful whenever we needed assistance. A special thank you to Theresa for making our arrival so pleasant. Her hospitality really stood out and set the tone for a great stay. We would definitely stay here again!” — Steven F., 5 stars
“I stay at this hotel regularly and have consistently had great experiences, but I especially wanted to recognize Mary H, a security guard, for going above and beyond. On a previous stay, I accidentally left an item behind and contacted the hotel hoping it could be located. Mary personally helped track it down, kept it secure, and made sure I was able to retrieve it when I returned for my next visit. She was incredibly helpful, professional, and reassuring throughout the entire process. Thank you, Mary, for the excellent service and peace of mind!” — Rocky T., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Capital Hilton.
"This is my second time staying at this Hilton location and I can say they are consistently amazing at accommodating guests. I want to give a shout out to Frank, I got in on an early flight and he was able to get me into a room with no issues. He also made me feel very comfortable as a solo traveler and appreciated as an Honors member. The overall staff are so kind and willing to help, which makes your stay 10x better. It is an older hotel with charm. They have renovated the rooms (it also had a lovely scent when I walked in). I love the location as it’s close to many local attractions and a variety of restaurants."

He also insured an early check-in plus late check-out!!! Frank and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend Capital Hilton for its prime downtown DC location, ease of parking (valet & street), on-site dining, well appointed suites, and most importantly, reasonably priced rates."

Yes, some paint is worn or chipped and it can use some updating in places but the location is perfect and the beds are clean and comfortable. For us, it was Chanukah and I want to thank the doormen for making sure we could light our Chanukah candles safely outside. Very kind."
