What Guests Are Saying
“Our flight got canceled, and we needed a place to stay for the night. I discovered Riggs through my Chase Sapphire account, and its excellent reviews encouraged me to take a chance on it. It turned out to be a great choice; Riggs is a converted bank building, and the decor reflects its unique history. The hotel is really well appointed. The positive experience began with the valet service and continued through to the front desk staff, who made us feel welcomed and appreciated as guests. The themed decor caught my attention right off the elevators; each door number plate is designed to resemble a safety deposit box door— a clever design touch. I also noticed the do-not-disturb door hangers, which are not your typical placards. Instead, they feature a cord tied with a monkey fist knot, adding another standout detail before we even reached our room. When we entered the room, I was pleasantly surprised. Have you ever looked at hotel photos and found that your room didn’t match what you saw online? That was not the case at Riggs. I believe my room might even be the one used in their promotional photos—wow! The headboard beautifully blended with the wall decor. Staying true to the building’s history, they also included a chest safe in the room that housed the mini bar, in-room safe, and mini fridge. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, making me realize that I really need new mattresses at home. Hey Riggs, who supplies yours? It contributed to a wonderfully restful night’s sleep. In the morning, we had breakfast at Café Riggs, which was also fantastic. Overall, our stay far exceeded our expectations; after all, we were only looking for a place to spend the night. We also discovered that this hotel is conveniently located just a ten-minute drive from DCA airport, which is a plus since we often fly from there. The highest compliment I can give any business is whether I would recommend it to family or friends. With Riggs, the answer is an easy YES. Not only do we plan to return to Riggs in the future, but we also learned that their parent company has locations in NYC. Because of our positive experience at Riggs, we will definitely check out their New York location when we visit the city. To the Riggs management, job well done! Thank you for a great stay.” — Gasper M., 5 stars
“We had a lovely stay at the Riggs! First, Semaj at the front desk was wonderful, she helped us at check in and checkout. I asked for an extra half hour for checkout time and she said an extra hour would be no problem. She was so friendly and efficient and professional! And of course Garnett, Mr. DC, was incredibly friendly and helpful with our bags, getting us transportation, and always greeting me by name! I forgot my toothbrush and Garnett had one delivered to the room within minutes. So friendly and professional! All the staff was very service oriented and polite. Considering we had a corner room and a second room facing 9th St. we were so impressed at how quiet the rooms were despite the city traffic below. Our Deluxe rooms were clean, spacious, and so well appointed. Unlike so many hotels, the thermostat in the room seemed to actually work well and keep the temp comfortable without loud noises and blowing cold air around. The only complaint would be no drawers or shelves for clothes so we had to request more hangers to hang them and keep some clothes in our suitcases. The food, spirits, and service at Cafe’ Riggs were all very, very good. Breakfasts were tasty, and the service was so friendly and warm. The location is excellent, we enjoyed walking to every museum and restaurant that we visited with family. The Gallery Place metro stop is just a few blocks away, and the hotel is a great location for events at Capital One arena. We travel to DC at least 1-2 times per year and have found our new favorite DC hotel at The Riggs.” — Laura K., 5 stars
“I spent a week enjoying this beautiful boutique hotel. Every single interaction with staff was superb! From the staff checking you in to the door attendant when you leave the property —everyone is top-notch. Our package included breakfast, and it was so good! Greicy was an impressive server and offered excellent care to our group each day. The others working in the Cafe were equally kind and jovial, and I appreciated how quick they were to accommodate when reservation numbers changed! The location is perfect, allowing you to walk to many favorites in the area or be just a quick block from many Metro lines. I would highly recommend this hotel, and I hope to be back soon! Thank you for a great stay!” — Teacher M., 5 stars

What guests are saying about Riggs Washington DC.
"My husband and I had our Christmas Eve dinner at Cafe Riggs. Food and ambiance were spectacular - definitely put you in the Christmas mood. The most amazing part of our meal? The service from DAngelo. Honestly best service we have had in DC post COVID. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed with adding in just the right touch of humor and personality, without being overbearing and still allowing husband and I to share a nice holiday meal together. We will be back and we will request DAngelo again!"

View on Google"I hosted my wedding reception at Riggs in October and was absolutely floored by the level of service, kindness, and professionalism of everyone. The valet employees were exceptional - especially Coach. They went above and beyond for us and all of our guests to make such a smooth transition anytime we came in or exited the hotel. I also had the pleasure of working with Karen & Brittany on the event side and cannot say enough good things! Karen started our journey into wedding planning and Brittany absolutely crushed handling the rest and it was so appreciated! Brittany was so down to earth and she put my Type A mind at ease that she had it all under control at all times and it was life saving! Not only was the staff amazing but the hotel is stunning, cafe riggs has the best cocktails and overall we couldn't have asked for anything more. We still get comments about how insane our wedding dinner and desserts/cake were. Truly couldn't recommend Riggs more for your wedding or any special occasion! We can't wait to celebrate our anniversary here in the coming year just to relive the day and exceptional service!"

View on Google"We loved our stay at the Riggs Hotel! Check-in was super easy, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and the location could not be better — we were right next to the Christmas market which was so fun. We used their cribs and the room had plenty of space for our two little ones, which made everything so much easier. Room service and breakfast were delicious. Overall just such a great vibe. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re in DC!"
