“Could not have been happier to stay here. Were her for 4 nights, we had a very nice Robert Mills suite. Lots of space, corner room so lots of views. Breakfast was very tasty, we are early risers, so the 7 am start Monday through Friday was great. For your information, Saturday and Sunday they don’t open until 9 am. Most of the Smithsonian’s don’t open until 10, so if that is on your agenda, don’t worry. One is right across the street, the American Art Museum and Portrait Gallery. They don’t open until 11:30?, but stay open later than most, until 7 pm. That was not in our plans, but since it was right there, went over and we were glad we did. Coffee is out by 6:30 every morning, which is nice. Staff could not have been more pleasant, and waiters in the restaurant were great.” — rageisman, 5 stars

“Historic Grand Boutique Hotel in an excellent location This Kimpton property is stunning, and the location is excellent. Housed in the historic former U.S. General Post Office (opened for the first time in 1839). Kimpton has transformed it into this luxury boutique hotel. The atmosphere in the lobby is very impressive, the hotel is well-maintained, our room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
