About The Hotel

A 3.6-rated (78 reviews — the THINNEST review sample in the DC set) 3-star Holiday Inn Express Washington DC Downtown By IHG at 317 K St NW near Mount Vernon Square/NoMa. Subratings 3.6-4.5 with rooms 4.5, location 4.4, sleep quality 4.3, cleanliness 4.2, value 3.7 and service 3.6 (softest). Amenities include EV charging, free WiFi, fitness center, FREE BREAKFAST, kids-stay-free, kids activities, pet-friendly and car hire. Legacy Hot Tub Hotels frontmatter markets in-room jacuzzi suites; TripAdvisor amenity listings do not confirm in-room whirlpools — verify at booking. Recent 5-star reviews focus on named-staff (Karyi at valet, Caesar), 6-day April 2026 sightseeing stays (“My husband and I spent 6 days in Washington DC in April 2026. This hotel is the best!! The location is awesome. Close to all of DC museums, The Capital, supreme court”). At 78 reviews this is a small sample — the 3.6 aggregate is thin data. Best for IHG One Rewards budget travelers, value-conscious sightseers who prioritize location + free breakfast + kids-stay-free, and short-stay travelers accepting the thin-review-sample caveat. The Mount Vernon Square / NoMa location puts you 10-15 minutes walking to the National Mall and Convention Center, 20 minutes to the U.S. Capitol, and a short walk to Mount Vernon Square Metro (Yellow / Green Line). Free breakfast, kids-stay-free and IHG One Rewards points at budget rates make this the DC set’s value pick for sightseeing families willing to accept a thin review sample. Book direct through IHG for cleanest fee disclosure.

What Guests Are Saying

“Booking. I booked this hotel through the housing service of a professional meeting. Check in. Appreciated the members’ gift bag with water and cookies! Lobby. On Sunday, the lobby was full! A five-minute wait for self-service breakfast. Almost every seat in the lobby was taken. Deion welcomed everyone! Coffee. To reduce crowding, move the two Costa Coffee machines away from each other. Move the left-hand machine to the left and move the accessories to the right. People stand shoulder to shoulder to use them. Sometimes, one machine was not in use because it was partly blocked by the person using the other machine. Room. Good view from the twelfth floor south over K St. Liked the room lighting. Took me a while to find all the light switches. Each switch is black on a black background. The bathroom lights were very convenient: they switched themselves on when I walked in and switched off after about 30 minutes. Some space for desk work, just enough to open my regular sized laptop on the table. A large device would not have fitted. Fast Wi-Fi.” — Mark H., 5 stars

“My husband and I spent 6 days in Washington DC in April 2026. This hotel is the best!! The location is awesome. Close to all of DC’s museums, The Capital, supreme court, the senator and house members offices etc., but you have to be prepared to walk some. If you don’t want to walk, there are many buses, bikes you can rent among other modes of transportation. We chose to walk where we went and we saw it all. The metro is just a couple blocks away, so we took it to Arlington National Cemetery and to Union Station. Our stay at the Holiday Inn was great! Clean rooms, lots of hot water, comfortable bed, very good A/C, the breakfast was very good, and we ate at the restaurant a couple of times, (they gave us 20% off our food). They have a happy hour in the lobby, where they serve red or white wine for a couple of hours, and in the restaurant, they also have a happy hour from 4-6, M-F. I would definitely stay there again.” — Colleen A., 5 stars

“Our very big van was allowed to stay parked outside, that was very kind of the hotel staff! Even though we arrived late we still had time for a great Bible study with a few of us from different rooms, we went over Psalms 27 and had a fantastic discussion. The shower was nice and warm and I don’t smell no more thanks to the shampoo 😝. At breakfast 🍳🥞 everyone was welcoming to our big group of around 15 idk I didn’t count. There was a cool big fake croissant. The food tasted tasty and we were cared for by Susan and Jose who were happy to help 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️real inspirations. Here is a haiku we wrote over breakfast: The Holiday Inn, Really tickled my pickle, The people did too. If I wasn’t so poor I would come here more often, but as somewhere to come not many times over it is a very good place : )” — Josh G., 5 stars

"I stayed at the Holiday Inn a few months ago for a conference, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, the service was outstanding. I want to give a special shout out to Eyob at the front desk for his patience and efficiency during check-in. I had three additional rooms under different names but all needed to be on the company card. He handled the entire process with calm and friendly attention. A special thank you to Rachel Pope at the front desk who was fantastic. She helped me extend my stay seamlessly and even coordinated holding my bags so I could finish my conference without carrying everything around. Her professionalism and kindness made a stressful day so much easier. While I didn't catch their names, the valet staff were incredibly kind and accommodating throughout my stay. And the person who keeps the breakfast area running smoothly deserve recognition as well. The breakfast was way more than what I expected, with made to order pancakes and warm egg and sausage options every day. The attendant was quick to bring out anything I needed and made sure everything was well stocked. Overall, this hotel provided exceptional service and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you to the whole team for making my conference trip a great experience."

"Solo traveler, King's Suite for 2 nights ($123/night). Nov. 21 weekend Good hotel with multiple bars/cafes/restaurants within 10 minute walking distance. 7/11 down the block as well. Room was clean with a comfortable bed, a mini lounge area (a couch and a coffee table), and a wall mounted flatscreen TV. The bed has side tables with wall outlets and adjustable lamps on both sides. Standard single serve coffee machine and mini fridge available as well. Bathroom was clean. The only issue I had, like some of the other reviews mentioned, was when the lights would automatically turn on sometimes so I would have to get up and turn them off myself. I woke up early for breakfast but I'm sure they'll still have food available an hour or two after opening the line. No long waits since it's self serve. Usual American Continental breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon with a pancake/waffle machine. Options for fruit, milk/juice, and cereal as well as a coffee/hot chocolate bar. Around a 15-20 minute walk to the nearby museums/attractions/National Mall area. Parking valet is expensive on site, around $65 + per night. Recommend using the paid parking lots nearby since they're cheaper. LAZ parking lot and another paid parking lot behind the nearby church (with exception of Sundays since it's reserved) are the closest options. Not a bad stay here if you're visiting, look for price drops."
