What Guests Are Saying

“Lovely, meticulously renovated hotel, designed by Thomas Jefferson’s protegé, with loads of interesting history dating back to the early 19th century. Stayed twice before and there’s always something new to explore! Each visit has been perfect in this beautiful inn and warm, friendly atmosphere. Due to consistently comfortable temps, thick walls and blackout shades we slept soundly each time whether in a standard room, one bedroom suite or the larger suite we were upgraded to during this past stay (complete with rooftop deck!), Breakfast is delightful; loved exploring the grounds as well in addition to the town of Staunton & Gypsy Hill Park. Highly walkable area & easily accessible to major roadways like I-81.” — Jacqueline N., 5 stars

“A total delight 😊 We love historic hotels & unique experiences, so this place was a 10 . The grounds were perfection. Staff was beyond friendly & accommodating, smiles everywhere! Very clean , comfortable, and quiet … I would highly recommend” — Threerolaids, 5 stars

“Beautiful 1800s “hospital resort” transformed with sleek modern amenities while keeping historic decorative design. Blackout shades and temperature were definitely conducive to sleeping. Marvelously convenient to I-81.” — R D., 5 stars

"Sage (at the front desk) was very welcoming, kind and helpful. CJ kept me company during breakfast and made a wonderful cup of coffee. We spoke of the theatre, travel and world events. He was kind, attentive and helpful. Alyssa made me a fantastic and delicious veggie breakfast bowl! Didn’t need hot sauce or anything. Perfection! The staff was above average in every aspect. It’s amazing what a difference authenticity makes in a person’s experience. The Blackburn Inn is fortunate to have these people making the difference! Thank you!"

"Went here for the potential haunted sighting. The place is beautiful and well kept. Very quiet, peaceful, yet creepy at night. Price was very reasonable and the rooms are better kept than any other franchised hotel I've stayed at as similar price range. We arrived later than we expected but the gentlemen at the front desk was more than accommodating and was very friendly. Easy check in. Definitely worth checking out. :)"

"Cool place, they are very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to just walk around and check the building out. You can go all the way up the spiral staircase at the top for a great view of the Inn and surrounding buildings. I also really liked the art gallery. I wish they had a venmo or cash app to buy the paintings, I didn't feel like calling a number to buy the art over the phone."
