About The Hotel

From $103/night — Stowe’s cheapest resort option, but with significant caveats. Stoweflake is a 3.9-rated full-service resort and spa under new management and mid-renovation, so experiences vary widely. Guests report the lowest nightly rates in town, an indoor heated pool, an outdoor hot tub, fireplace rooms, and genuinely friendly front-desk staff. But reviews also cite dated rooms, thin walls, an undisclosed ~$20 resort fee, and a spa that’s been closed or under rebuild. The value score (3.6) reflects these trade-offs. A renovated room in a quiet part of the property, away from bar and conference areas, will serve you far better than a dated one. Confirm the spa status and room renovation before booking. Best for budget-conscious travelers and families willing to be selective.

What Guests Are Saying

“My neighbor and I wanted to used our Epic passes to ski at Stowe, so we chose a Monday and Tuesday and stayed in town. There are many different TripAdvisor sites for this one location. The reviews vary drastically. After skiing we stoped at the brewery next door to the Stoweflake, and then checked in around 5 with Kelly. It was fast and sweet. So were the cookies by the fireplace in the lobby. She told us breakfast started at 7am. We walked around and found the very nice pool and extensive workout facility. We brought our own equipment and played racquetball. Dinner was across the street at Piecasso, and was chicken Parmesan for me and a great big burger with excellent fries for Jim. The room had a fireplace and was clean and newly remodeled. The whole place was huge and is the largest conference center in Vermont. Breakfast was hard boiled eggs, hot and cold cereals, muffins and danish, apples and oranges, yogurt, bagels, orange juice and coffee. The dining area was like a relaxation area with games and a sunken fireplace. There was an arcade as well. We had a great stay and he and his girlfriend are returning next weekend.” — John P., 5 stars

“Amazing get away! We enjoyed our room, great amenities. Spa was closed but looks like a new one is on its way! We have stayed here many time and the staff is always very pleasant and accommodating. Easy check in. Great restaurants near by and lots of entertainment in town. Will stay here over and over again!” — Caitlin W., 5 stars

“Cons- bed was not comfortable . Back hurt after 2 days. Place is dated -ie - tv was NOT smart , had a slight odor , free breakfast ok - free after all but throw a few more things out then sugary yogurt , cold cereal and bagels .coffee cups size of shot glasses . Fine if you’re hanging to get more Pros - free continental breakfast , hot tub and heated indoor pool , room was spacious w fireplace . They are redoing our wing of rooms so that is a good thing . Staff were very friendly and hopefully they fix clogged shower drain” — Rose L., 4 stars

"We had the best experience at Stoweflake Mountain Resort. We stayed in a 2 bedroom townhouse that was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed included beautiful snowy views. The general manager Duncan went out of his way to make our stay incredibly special. He invited our 8th grade friend who were traveling with to perform her oboe in the lobby as a “mini concert” and he was generous and thoughtful to even leave her an envelope with $20 in it. This was above and beyond and made all of our experience so remarkable. The staff was so nice and the pool and fitness area was great fun for all. Highly recommend this place for a wonderful memorable vacation."

"From the moment we arrived, everything was just so comfortable and welcoming. The check-in process was quick and easy, and our room was clean and cozy. The lobby was one of my favorite parts as it was beautifully decorated and always had a fire going in the fireplace. The lobby also always has tea and the continental breakfast was lovely. Although, what really makes this hotel stand out is the kind staff. My mom and I accidentally got locked out of our car, right after checking out of our room. It was a stressful moment to say the least, but the staff did everything they could to help us. They called around for us and found a locksmith that could get us back into the car. Duncan in particular was incredibly compassionate. He reassured me that everything would be ok, made me and my mom laugh, and even offered to buy us ice cream at the place across the street; incredible! This type of comfort and kindness is not easy to find. If you have the chance to stay here, please do! You’ll have peace of mind knowing that the staff here cares about you, which in this day and age is priceless."

"My family and I had a fantastic stay at Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa! The staff was incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived. They even upgraded us with a cozy fireplace in our room for just $180, which made the whole experience feel extra special. The resort was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The spa amenities were top-notch, and the atmosphere throughout the property was peaceful and well-kept. We truly felt taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend Stoweflake if you’re looking for a warm, family-friendly, and relaxing stay in Stowe! Will definitely be returning! 🌲🔥💙"
