A 4.8-rated gem run by gracious owner-hosts Anatoly and Rose, with whimsical, spotless rooms and made-to-order breakfasts that guests rave about. The inn earns perfect marks for cleanliness and location (4.9 and 4.8 respectively). Steps from village shops and restaurants, minutes from the Shelburne Museum and Shelburne Farms. Not ideal for families—it’s adults-only—and booking requires detailed pre-arrival instructions (clear but thorough). One guest reported a worn mattress, so confirm your room. A quiet, cozy base for couples wanting village walkability and Burlington day trips.

What Guests Are Saying

“Rose and Anatoly have the magic touch. Everything was absolutely perfect. They were so accommodating and very accessible. The location was perfect after flying into Burlington. The Inn was right across the street from what I think was a town hall which was hosting a masterclass on the rebuilding of the Notre Dame. Very Vermont! Such a fun niche experience. The Inn was immaculately clean and so incredibly cozy. Our breakfast was the best meal we had our whole trip (could have also been the lovely conversation and recommendations from Rose and Anatoly). They perfectly curated the menu options and timing as well. The maple yogurt is a must! All in all the amount of effort and attention to detail is obvious and very much appreciated. Absolutely would stay again. Perfectly lovely experience. Thank you Rose and Anatoly!” — kaila S., 5 stars

“Had a great weekend in Shelburne and Burlington, made even more enjoyable by the accommodations at this bed and breakfast. The inn was lovely, with whimsical touches throughout. The teapot chandelier in the breakfast room and the door in the ceiling of my room for the resident ghosts were particularly fun. The innkeepers, Rose and Anatoly, were delightful hosts who make every guest feel most welcome. Don’t be intimidated by the instructions and rules that accompany a reservation. The level of detail will actually make your stay quite easy.” — Maggie S., 5 stars

“Wonderful B&B! What was even more wonderful than the lodging were the Owners! Anatoly and Rose are delightful people. Very friendly and hospitable. The “homemade” prepared breakfast was in a word - Exceptional!! Thank y’all so much for making my Vermont Running Experience Delightful. Rose - best of luck as you knock out your 50th state in Hawaii in January…I hope to catch you by next summer! :-) Best To You Both, Frederick Von Canon” — Frederick V., 5 stars

"The Heart of the Village Inn is a delightful Bed & Breakfast with wonderful hosts! Our room was comfortable, cozy, spacious and impeccably clean. The Victorian home is beautiful and situated in, as the name implies, right in the heart of a charming village. You can walk to nearby shops and it's just a short drive to attractions like Shelburne Farms, the Shelburne Museum and Lake Champlain. The morning breakfasts were a real treat. Rose and Anatoly served up excellent French Toast, pancakes, crustless quiche and local coffee! They also were a joy to talk with. We hated to leave. We definitely hope to return on our next adventure!"

"Heart of the Village was the highlight of our recent fall foliage trip! The hosts are the most lovely people and made us feel so welcome and at home. The inn itself is so cute, well maintained, and in the perfect location right in the heart of Shelburne. And don't even get me STARTED on the breakfast - truly some of the best meals we had on our entire trip! This is a can't-miss stay!"

"The room was extremely clean, cozy, and very comfortable. The hosts were lovely, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and our favorite part of our stay. The B&B is in a great location, close to restaurants, shops, and just a 15-20 min ride to downtown Burlington. Would highly recommend to others!"
